Neat looking model and all cars look better without spoilers.

Nonsense!

A WRX STi looks like half the car it is if you remove the spoiler, be it the massive wing it used to sport, or the more subtle spoiler is currently wears.

Also, many (not all) cars with spoilers of any kind--you do make no distinction between rear spoiler and front spoiler--absolutely require said spoiler to achieve the performance levels promised. So, I am providing a third emoticon to satisfy my desire to both utilize the emoticon and to demonstrate my unhappiness with your chosen argument, which is all so easily summed up thusly:

Huge spoilers on street cars are ugly and they are going to be going fast enough to make use of them on the street anyways.

I had to look up the WRX STi and what a front spoiler even was and still stand by my opinion. Front or back, a spoiler breaks up the clean lines of a car and "spoils" it aesthetically. I've yet to see one that actually looks good.

Try JB weld, but TINY bit of it (see if they have clear color). Superglue doesn't work on metal very well.

AutoArt makes quality pieces (I'm sure some snobs/hipster will dismiss that). I have a Bugatti Veyron (about 100 bucks 10+ years ago, now it goes for $200). It's the only model I have that's in a case too.

It's the best piece in my crappy collection (which is mostly made of $15 Costco 1/18 models)....about 40+ cars.

Most spoilers are none functional and ugly.

On the street (assuming you are driving legally) they are completely useless and make almost 0 difference.

Take it to a local machine shop and ask them to mig weld it.

ehh, too much work. i would have considered JB weld, but the spoiler is in pieces and would be difficult to maintain even with glue i think. i just ended up telling the boy he can have it and play with it with his other maisto sets. he was thrilled. no use keeping it on the mantle any longer i guess. ill have to cut the rest of the spoiler pieces off the main body and maybe sand out the rough edges.

Regurgitate!

A WRX STi looks like a Toyota Corolla if you remove the spoiler, but it looks absolutely ridiculous with the massive wing it used to sport, or the more subtle spoiler is currently wears.

Also, many (not all) cars with spoilers of any kind--you do make no distinction between rear spoiler and front spoiler--absolutely require said spoiler to achieve the performance levels promised (of course, it is impossible to realize those performance levels on the street so unless you take it to a track it isn't going to make a bit of difference if you remove it). So, I am wasting my time with this post... here is yet another emoticon to satisfy my desire to both utilize the emoticon and to demonstrate my unhappiness with my stupid argument, which is all so easily summed up thusly:

Fixed.

How big is this model anyway? I'm kind of thinking of buying one.

1/18 scale is the biggest general purpose model car size I know of. That Lambo is probably something like 10-12 inches long. The specs on the page say it weighs 2 kg, or more than 4 pounds, if that gives something of an idea.

The model car kits we used to glue together when I was a kid were all 1/24 or 1/25 scale, or about 3/4ths the size of 1/18.

The roughly four inch size cars are 1/43 scale.

I'm sure someone else with a slide rule and a superior attitude will be along shortly to tell you how crappy my feeble size estimations were.

Those Chinese Sun Star models, which show up under all sorts of re-brands, often at much higher prices, have remarkable fidelity and detail for their $15-$30 prices, though.

I often wonder what sort of process makes a Chinese exec in that firm decide their next project will be, say, a 1958 De Soto. It's like the head of their strategic planning is a Cuban or something.
