Looks like a deal to me. And I'm being conservative. Not to mention these setups come almost completely silent.
Adding the monitor is a bonus too. LCD prices are insane right now.

Just hope that you don't have to open the case for anything, or that nothing goes bad on it...

Why? From all the reviews I have read, while has not been that recent, have said there new case designs are very easy to work on. As has my buddy that has installed about 25 or so in the last few months. Good solid machines, with strong power supplies and very quiet. Much better than what you will see from Price Watch at these prices. They used to use a lot of proprietary stuff, but not any more. May not be that great if you want to over clock or something like that, but that is to be expected at this price.

Dimension 2400 can only have 1 hard drive. I think if you want to add a second drive, you'd need to buy the drive cage elsewhere. Otherwise, it's an excellent budget system.

I have picked up 4 or these computers for customers who wanted bargain basement computers. They have been solid and well built for the money.

cmon, aren't you on a hot deal forum? you can do better than that.
$200 for mobo and cpu (it's a sucky mobo. not even agp i'm guessing)
for a 256 stick of memory, $20 ar
the 80 gig hard drive for $20 ar this week
cdrw for $20 ar
case + psu $20
xp home-not quite sure, but oem, like $60?
total $340

but i think it is a decent deal cause dell has to provide support

What kind of case + ps are you getting for $20? Sure you can probably find one, but would you really want to use the POS? Plus I don't htink you can get XP Home for $60, but I may be wrong about that.

Your JOKING right? You are comparing a new prebuilt Dell system to trying to get the best prices AFTER rebate from numerous companies. I don't think this is a good comparison!

BTW, it looks like if you choose "Use mouse from wireless package" you can get it down to $519 - $200 = $319. You will see a warning about needing to correct an invalid combination, but click the X button or the Cancel button on the dialogue (not the OK, and you might have to try a few times) and it appears to forward you to the next checkout page. YMMW in the end though.

The people crapping on this thread are idiots. It's an excellent price for that computer. I'm recommending it to a friend.

Thanks for the post on this. This seems like a decent deal for a sister that is looking to purchase a new PC.
