1.2ghz Hammer benches

Last I heard was around 2ghz and March or April. I think it will be alittle later. I could be wrong though.

it just seems odd that they'd go out of their way to use an inferior memory for the p4.

that web page is messed up adul...

does anyone know the rest of the specs of the systems? if they chose to be inconsistant with the memory, who knows what else they screwed up.

Probably becaused they used a 845 chipset that supports only up to PC2100.

The benches were released on the paper version of that magazine, and will probably be available soon on the site. TheInquirer has the scoop.

I don't take any of these benches seriously. What I want to see is all of the big review sites bench a final retail version, then I will be happy. Until then, I take these as pure enjoyment, not real benches.

Yeah, I'm in total agreement. Plus they shafted the P4 with PC2100.

Compare it to what 1 wants makes no indif as those are the results @1.2GHz...better then the earliar 800MHz with time to go!

awwwww but but wait look at the p4? is that not so many more mhz more then the athlons???? so really just cause they took the ram down a bit still don't mean nothing the p4 is clock much higher but then again ya ppl keep saying that mhz rules right??? or really deep down ya know that the athlon kicks ass even at a lower mhz??? hehe it all seems a lill fiar.

I would still like to see a fair comparison of the P4. If anyone did that to the Athlon using SDRAM instead of DDR RAM against a P4 with Rambus or Granite Bay chipset w/ DC DDR, I would say the same thing too. I know the Athlon is pretty good, I have owned 3 Athlons systems, and currently using one of those systems.

ok, that is pure fanboy talk.

and i don't recall ANYONE here sayind "mhz rules." to the contrary, i'm pretty sure there is less than 1% of the anandtech forum population that believes that.

basic journalism competency says that when comparing items, use as close to identical platforms as possible. i'm not sure the point of even comparing it to a p4 if you aren't going to compare them on like platforms.


i own both an athlonxp and a p4, so i'm only a fan of the best price and technology for me.

just what am I to be all fanboy about? I my self use a PIII and a mac and on them i use linux and osX. It's not my prob if that dude who uses a P4 got all upset cause the athlon at 1.2 was kicking the p4 that was clock far faster. All I did was point out that it was fair that they use a 33 mhz slower ram on the p4 because it was clock over a ghz more then the athlons... I don't care for mhz if so I would not use a mac or this PIII 1266 that kicks some p4s around!

not according to Kate Turrabian. the question mark is part of the quotation, and the quotation is being used in a single syntax out of context format. hence, a period at the end.

Those are some pretty good looking performance numbers if theHammer is going to debut at around 2GHz. I think my next system wil be Hammer based. Of course, I have to wait and see what it looks like when some more conclusive benchmarks are available.

dude i know what i did and did not do to make that such a nice lill looking sent. this is however not some school class and I do not see fit typing like it either. to me as long as you can read the words and know what the dude is getting at don't worry of it. I and a lot of ppl that read what other says can care less about the marks that is uses.... it's like fancy lill noon sence that is not really needed.
