Im sure you forgot the fineprint.

Anything above 1.575V on SB or Ivy voids warranty and is over spec. Nomatter how you try and pack it in.

So what, gazillions of Sandy users overclock their cpu. Out of spec, warranty voided.

Thing is, Intel is saying 1.575 max or 'you'll fry your cpu'. But ram guys keep selling 1.65V modules anyway and mobo makers even put them in QVL.

TS, if I were you I would just keep the Kingstons and run them at Jedec spec 1333 9-9-9-24 1.5V. The difference with 1600MHz ram will be noticeable only in some benchmarks. If 1600MHz does make you feel better, run at 1.5V and set Commandrate to T2 (it's what Corsair Vengeance does, and they sell like hot cakes).

I’d never use 1.65V modules. They’re out of spec for both Intel and JEDEC standards.

I was under the impression that anything faster than DDR1333 memory will gain you maybe 3%. Why don't you guys just drop it down to that speed. I'm sure it will run at 1.5v.

Because if you don't spend $400 on 2666 MHz modules to squeeze every last drop of performance from the integrated ivy bridge GPU you have failed.

Actually that would be very wasteful because for $400 you can get a very nice discrete GPU with even faster memory.

The $46.99 2x4gb c11 1600 Samsung 30nm will do ddr3 2400.
That's plenty fast unless u have to have 2600.

Currently available at Microcenter.com for $0.99 shipping.

3% difference?

Well, maybe but run some 1333 then plunk in some 1866 or 2133 and and tell us if you notice the difference...

I want my memory fast because I intend to use fancy cache with Ivy Bridge setup I plan to build.

I love how you ask this document "How many volts are safe?" and it spits out:

VDDQ - ((VDDQ / 2)*
(RON/(RON+RTERM))

I am not great with math so I will instead give you this:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...uters/core-i7-memory-suppliers-datasheet.html

This datasheet seems to indicate that there are dozens of 1.65 DDR3 modules they certify to be safe

I would read these two if I were you:
