1.6A + Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra = ?

I've got a 1.6 Northwood P4 with a dying ECS motherboard. I was thinking of getting the 8pe667 ultra, but is this a waste of money (107.72 with shipping at partspc, better than newegg for a change) for this processor? I can't afford another processor to go with a new mobo. I know it will work with this board, but are there are any better 845E/G boards that would be better suited? Any recommendations for a different board, or should I just go with the Gigabyte?

seems to be a very good price for that board. i had the same combo in one machine using the onboard raid 0 setup. served my needs very well.

I got the 8pe667 Ultra about 3 weeks ago. I have the 2.4g. I can change the fsb to 150 and hit 2.7g with the stock hsf no problem. I have samsug 2700 mem. i like this board. I am running win xp pro, not one single problem from this mobo. A couple of hints. Stay with the chipset drivers that comes on the installation cd. I flashed the new bios ok. Then flashed it to the backup bios. Oh yea if you overclock it to much wait 20 seconds and it will reset. I didn't know that and removed the battery and replaced it and it did the same thing.
