I was looking for web hosting sites, because I thought since prices are so cheap now, better to shut down the old PC and save on electricity by just subscribing to these web hosting sites.

People need to remember this is WINDOWS webhosting where as the real people use UNIX/LINUX based webhosting

I would rather pay $23.89 less and sign up for RippleHost.com @ $4.99/yr which offers 100MB/1GB rather than 20MB/1GB and $0 setup fee.

I was wondering if any of these offered email only hosting. I would like to be able to control my own host records so my domain name can point to my server for www, but that my mail goes to a server. I don't mind paying ripplehost's 5 bucks a year or what not for mail and web hosting and just not using the web hosting. I just want to be able to use my domain name for both. Anyone know how or where I can do this?

I think you're gravely mistaken. Dixiesys's support is far from rude and offensive.

They didn't get to be as big as they are with support like that.

Info, would be appreciated, basically, does it cost more to run the PC 24/7 at home than to pay a monthly fee for webhosting.

there are better hosting sites out there than this site. I think it would be cheaper to host your stuff elsewhere than at home

I've never found them to be rude and offensive but they are far from perfect.

That's why I'm closing my 2 remaining Dixiesys accounts and moving everything over to dathorn/addaction.
