Yes I am protected as long as I file a police report. Yeah I'm sure it was just coincidence that 5 minutes after I used my card the was money taken out and I hadn't used my card in a month. Yeah right, just pure coincidence.
The red flag happens when I'm in Houston make a buy, and immediately there is a transaction in Plano Tx. They have software that looks for that kind of stuff at Visa.
Regular ATM debit card or credit card are fine. Just don't use a Visa/MC debit card.
Not blaming Walmart, I shop there all the time, I like Walmart usually and also I usually use cash though. I can't help but believe that someone hacked into their system somehow since other people are having problems too.
The only thing I hated about it is that they could give a crap when called about it. It was like I was telling them that their parking lot was dirty. The uncaring attitude was bad.
waggy, you work for Walmart don't you?

Why not?
Acceptance is the first step. Good luck man.Yeah that's right, you are correct it was those porn sites that I use my card for. Of course how could I have forgotten. My bad. You and waggy are right, it was my fault and I totally exonerate Walmart. Thanks guys for your support and well wishes to all.
Man I wish I was a smart and had as much common sense as waggy and Godless asstronomer. But it gives me a New Years resolution now and the will to go on.
Someone outfited a full scuba package from a shop in Boca Raton, FL on our card. We had only used the card once previously - this is when, they still took imprints....
Had Visa call me about 2 years ago. seems sombody tried to buy like 2k worth of computer parts at a small computer shop in florida At the same time that happened i was buying gas in Chicago area. they called and the guy was cool. he asked if my car went a thousand miles an hour hehe.
No, your OP insinuates that either Walmart was hacked or a Walmart employee directly stole your number. The title of this thread even states that a bottle of Tylenol cost you $250, making a very clear connection between Walmart and the card theft, which is unlikely absent any further evidence, which you have not provided to date.
Regular ATM card requires a PIN - safe.
Regular credit card is not your own money - safe.
Visa/MC debit does not require a PIN and it's your own money they will steal - not safe. Your own accounts get tied up. Headaches.
What do you mean Visa/MC debit does not require a PIN? I have to put my PIN in when I use my card...its a Visa debit.
Tylenol == acetaminophen == paracetamol != ibuprofenWhat's worse is that you paid $7.56 for a bottle of Tylenol. You could have gotten their generic ibuprofen for $2 and change.

But, but, it was a really big bottle. And with the headache I had yesterday I didn't really care.
Absolutely, because acetaminophen does jack shit and ibuprofen is WAY better, which incidentally was my subtle yet transparently obvious point.
