What the hell, i jumped in on 2 of them. I have 3 different mobos to try them out in, an Abit BH6 (BX), Asus p3v4x (Via) and Abit KT7-Raid. If the rams partially works in one board i'll be happy. If not then I'll just eb@y it and still be happy.

I just ordered two, deal still *seems* to be good. I overnighted them, I guess I see if they come.

I got my price quote from Borderfree.

They want $45.00 (!!) for shipping. I guess i'm not getting in on this deal after all.

I have a SuperMicro P6DBE and it supports this ram, thanks, I just ordered one too. Let's see if it ships. Now, I need to install Win2k so that this thing works right.

I think all the systems listed in that eBay auction are servers. Compaq Proliant, Dell PowerEdge, Tyan Thunder, etc. That might explain why Dell is selling the Kingston stuff though.

Supposedly the BX6 rev 2.0 can support 1GB modules but I highly doubt this one would work, just because that'd be too sweet.

I am sure you can sell on eGay for at least $20 even though you find out the RAM is not suitable for your use.

Hmm...does anyone's current computer actually support these? I might have to tell my boss--one of those "supported" systems sounds familiar. Maybe I'll get a raise for the heads up!

bigsmooth - yeah, those are ALL servers. But that's cool. If I get it - I should be able to use it! There are lots of other good boards on there too - Like the AOpens and the Tyans. There might be hope for this yet - IF we get them.

I just got an email from the Dell webmaster saying "Go to Hell"

Oh, wait, no, that didn't happen.

> It's essentially two double-sided DIMMs combined into one.

Hmm, that makes it 256MB per side; that's probably too high density for the GX chipset I have in my Tyan S1837, which has 2 x 512MB registered ecc now, with dual P400's. Darn. I may order some just to try it out anyways.

The asus cur-dls board that the 6400/7400 are based on can support 100Mhz FSB processors; you could downgrade the single P933 to dual coppermine 100FSB (say, 800Mhz) and stick two of these dimms in (maybe). A speed hit, but cheap processors and memory.

I paid $30 for a 128 MB stick for my sucky compaq. Had to take 32 MB out so I only really got 96 MB for $30. Be so cool if my compaq supported a gig of ram at this price. Could run something like Datacenter on it. Good luck to those who have placed their orders.

it doesn't matter if your mobo doesn't support it. Its double sided, if your mobo takes 512 registered, this *should* work. But I am not jumping on this one
