hmm, noob question here but what's the importance of being seeded #1 aside from bragging rights? I guess it makes the way there easier right since you play lower teams?

Usually is an easier matchup to get to the sweet 16/Elite 8. Also they try to put the teams close to their home base.

If you "mouseover" the South you can see the teams - Texas A&M is 3rd, Memphis 2nd, etc.
