1 out 54 different AV scanners detected a file as a threat, is it safe to use?

There's a PDF file that i downloaded off the internet. It was a zip archive, with 5 PDFs in it. When i extracted it, my avast AV said it had detected PDF:UrlMal-inf[Trj] in one of them and moved the file to chest.

I then uploaded the file to virustotal.com, where it was scanned. Out of all the scanners, only Avast returned an infection; all others(including notable ones like Kaspersky, ESETNOD32 etc.) said that the file was clean.

Should I mark it a false positive on my PC? I do internet banking on this PC and the last thing I need is some trojan stealing all my data

Any advice would be appreciated. :thumbsup:

It looks like it may be detecting a url as bad in the pdf.

Since it is a PDF, just don't use Adobe PDF reader, and you should be OK.

I stopped using the free version of Avast years ago. Too many false positives.

There was news that Kaspersky might've tripped up other smaller av companies by putting in false positives in their database for plagiarism/not contributing enough.
