My best team is a hodgepodge of gold and flashback players I've earned through conquer and command. Flipping cards can be pretty profitable too.

I wouldn't spend real money even if I was a billionaire. It completely removes the fun and satisfaction of earning the player.

Agreed 100% on spending "real money". Just defeats the purpose of the whole thing in my eyes. I can not seem to win anything at C&C. Sucks Flipping cards is "fun" too -- flipped Vargas 8 times yesterday for a profit of ~450 stubs each time.

Craig Kimbrel is a pretty nasty closer. I love using Uehara in the 8th too because he throws so slowly I get 2 strikeouts or weak contact almost guaranteed and the splitter dips well. If it wasn't already obvious I'm a Red Sox fan...

I've flipped Uehara dozens of times -- he's made me a ton of stubs!
My bullpen evolves CONSTANTLY. My starting 5 though are pretty secure. DeGrom and Tanaka are just machines.

I wanted to play some quick C&C games last night -- I ended up playing two and both went 8 innings *sigh*

My patience in Diamond Dynasty is dwindling. I enjoy a good challenge but I get someone with fast runners that bunts every at bat and I want to strangle them. I'm okay with getting beaten but losing due to that drives me nuts.

Haven't played in a while (my son took the PS4 up into his room and I have not seen it, nor him for the past week+). But reading the forums it seems the whole bunting thing has grown to an epidemic now. It was an occasional asshole in the past, but now it seems its the majority (or what seems like the majority).

I will never understand stuff like this -- how is this fun for them on any level?

The game could use a revamp of infield IQ. I have the flashback Ichiro and I don't bunt because I know how much of a dick move it is. I'd much rather play a good game than stress over that like some players do.

Ironically, from what I read (I never played MLB15) they apparently said they revamped the infielding IQ etc to combat such cheap tactics. If this is improved, I can't imagine how bad it used to be.

I barely started in DD last year, though I've had the games since 2010. I got my butt kicked three times and went back to RTTS.

Anyone else playing a franchise?

I'm in year 1 of my Giants franchise. Made 0 roster moves at all, and won the division by nearly 5 games over the second place Dodgers.

Won the NLDS rather easily over the Mets, and faced the Dodgers again in the NLCS (they were Wild Car winners and beat the Cubs in their series.)

However, they've turned the tables on me. Currently going into Game 5, I'm down 3-1 and on the brink of elimination. I'm just barely scoring, but to be fair, all the playoff games up to this have been tight, low scoring affairs, with most games going something like 3-1, 2-0, 3-2, etc.

Not sure what roster moves I'll make in the offseason. Angel Pagan in LF has been surprisingly good offensively for me, but his age and expiring contract make it unlikely he'll be back next year, so I'd like to find a good bat out there.
Denard Span has also been unspectacular, batting under .240 for me and doing very little of anything in the post season. So my OF looks to be my biggest priority.

I JUST started a Franchise after my son nagging me to do so. Took my hometown Brewers in hopes of rebuilding them to a contender. I have my work cut out for me.

Somehow managed to bring the series back from the brink of 3-1 yesterday, to 3-3 now, setting up a pretty dramatic Game 7 matchup between MadBum and Kershaw. Should be pretty fun.

Man. Games like this are exactly why I buy this game every year. I get my money's worth.

Game 7. Dodgers at Giants. Dodgers take a 1-0 lead in the second inning, and hold in until the 7th when I tie it up, 1-1.
Game goes into extra innings, both SP long gone. Hunter Strickland anchors down the mound for me, and Dodgers go through J.P. Howell and Yimi Garcia.
Into extra innings we go. Bottom of the 10th, still 1-1. Crawford flies out, 1 away. Tomlinson grounds out. 2 away.
Denard Span steps up, having gone 1-4 today with a single. Second pitch, smashes a solo shot off of Garcia into deep right and into McCovey Cove.

And just like that, "The Giants have the pennant! The Giants have the pennant! The Giants have the pennant!".

Up next, either the White Sox or Yankees in the World Series.

Awesome. I'd really like to set up streaming Youtube (tired once and it never streamed) or something. this is the sort of video game I'd like to actually watch.

I can_not get a gold/diamond in a pack (I know I know, the odds are against me, but it's "fun" breaking open packs)

That being said, my son is a damned pulling machine. He's gotten 2 or 3 diamonds and probably 10+ golds (pulled Bryant last night) in probably <50 packs. Unbelievable.

So I ended up facing the Yankees in the World Series.

NL won the ASG, so homefield advantage is mine.

Game 1 was Tanaka vs. Cueto (MadBum still needs rest from the last series, and I was confident the Yanks hitters weren't good enough to bring him back under full strength).
We beat up on Tanaka, getting 7 hits and 4 runs, leading 4-0 going into the 6th. And then add another 2 off the reliever (can't remember who), and Cueto locks them down all night. We coast easily, 6-0.

Feeling confident going into Game 2 against Michael Pineda (against J. Samardzija), I couldn't BUY a hit. In fact, through SEVEN INNINGS, we had TWO hits. Luckily though, J Sam was on his game as well and had only given up a solo shot in the 4th. Yanks lead 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs, Pagan doubles into center, and I finally have a guy in scoring position.
Brandon Crawford steps up, having gone 0-3 so far this game, and this happens:

https://youtu.be/kYiuYvlF1AA

Two run shot into deep center.

Now just have to hold it for the top of the 9th. I bring in Romo, and set them down 1-2-3.

https://youtu.be/zSkWiyh6Asg

Now take a 2-0 lead in the series going back to NY.

I'm really enjoying how the Post Season plays and feels just overall different than the run of the mill early summer games. Just much tighter and more tense. The Show has always been good about that, but man, it makes each and every pitch a stressful one and I love it.

This is really petty, but I wish they would let you make alt home and away jerseys for DD and maybe it randomizes which one you get.

Nope, not petty. I totally agree as does my son. Seems like a simple thing to add too. it makes sense as well due to all the alt uniforms every team has nowadays.

I just remade the Milwaukee Braves uniforms and they look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

What is REALLY killing me is their take-down of the website marketplace. I flipped cards all day at work and with it being down for so long I've lost tons of stubs It clearly is their intent to leave it down for a long time so people are "forced" into buying studs from them. Cash grab and pisses me off.
