5 wins. They annoying part was getting Lackey to start. I just grinded rookie conquest games and only played when he started.

I've had a resurgence of interest in battle royale. I'm at the point in DD where my lineup is pretty much ideal and I just hover around my current score. I'll win a couple, then I'll get destroyed and my score will go down. With BR it's such a mixed bag of user skills and since everyone has weak players it's more of a true skill test. I beat someone in BR yesterday that had over 2000 and I was so pumped. My pitching fundamentals have improved so much.

Yeah. I liked BR when I dabbled in it early on. Was just fun getting all the FB cards too to be honest
It was fun with the strategy of trying to figure out your lineup too. And in reality, the net cost of playing isn't that bad with the guaranteed payout of AT LEAST 1 pack.

I've been grinding innings against the Yetis with the Twins and will probably do another team after that. Between real life and my son hogging the PS4, I don't get to much time to actually play.

The funny part was that I lost my first game. I thought about just conceding the 2nd one and trying again, but I couldn't bring myself to do it, and then I rattled off 9 straight wins. I've pretty much figured out how to thwart bunt cheesers.

Honestly, the bunt cheaters and DDoSers are what have put me off to online play. Every time I decide to go give it another try, after a game or 2 I'm faced with those idiots. While they are stoppable (the bunters) it just ruins the game for me. I want to play A GAME of baseball. Not a "can I stop the cheese". Too annoying.

While I agree with this sentiment, I absolutely love demolishing their stupid strategy and then beating them with solid contact and power. The higher up I get in DD the less I encounter this. Players now tend to beat me by being better than me.

I can understand that. Makes sense. I guess I'm just not high enough in the rankings yet so I still see a lot of it (Dee Gordon leading off on EVERY team!)

Bunt defense, then specifically move your 2nd baseman in. If the player decides to drag it to 2B the 2nd baseman tends to misplay it otherwise. Throw fastballs up and in on the corner mostly. If he's a bunt cheeser, then he won't be able to hit it and most likely will foul off a bunt attempt. Don't be shy about throwing balls. If he's always showing bunt, try a curveball in the dirt too. That pitch is hard to read and pull back the bunt in time.

I haven't bought a single pack this year, and I was feeling lucky this morning so I bought a 20 box. My 2nd to last pack had a diamond Wade Davis, haha. Before seeing that I kept thinking about how stupid of an idea it was. Selling it for 30k on the market.

Nice pull!
I've been trying to flip Wade Davis but never get the "buy". Usually lists with a profit of 2-3K

Soooooo tempted to buy a 20 pack. Must resist though!

Live series diamonds are too annoying to flip for the most part. They're too competitive so the price fluctuates like crazy.

Actually the low-level diamonds are good money makers. Those cards that people needs to complete lower team sets (David Price, Bogaerts etc)
The HIGH level ones... not worth the headache. I can flip 3-4 other cards and make twice as much in half the time (and 1/3 the investment) that it takes me to flip 1 high level Live Card. I don't bother wtih FBs etc.

I bought THREE 20 packs last night. Got a bunch of golds (Cueto etc) and a mountain of silvers. Ended up like 20K in the hole but with a huge stock of silver/bronze/commons to complete sets and feed players. Was fun opening though! Back to flipping today I guess

Haha, I hope I didn't tempt you too much with my success. I feel like I've hit a wall with my skills. I can pitch very well, but I just don't have the pitch recognition ability that the better players have. I know a lot of the top skilled players use a computer desk and monitor too, so me on my couch with my TV doesn't stand much of a chance.

LOL no you didn't. Pressure from my 15 year old did me in. He's had UNBELIEVABLE luck - pulling something like 12 diamonds since we got the game. So he presided over me as I unwrapped bronze after bronze after bronze (and laughed)

I played a lot of Conquest this week with my girlfriend out of town and I really wish I knew what I was doing when it comes to playing the market. It's just so tedious navigating the market, looking at what I have in my collection, etc.

And after pulling a Ted Williams and Diamond Mike Trout on opening day of MLB 15, it's so frustrating that I haven't yet received anything exciting this year (and I've played a lot more DD than I did last year).

Flipping is confusing at first, but once you get a handful of cards that you're successful with, it's kind of rinse and repeat. Feeling good about my last 20 pack box, I went for another one this morning. I got gold Beltre, Zimmerman, and cleats that are going around 2k along with the usual silvers. Not profitable, but oh well. I don't really have any more cards that I want other than the 500,000ish stub flashback diamonds and the captain cards.

You need to think through the market -- there are cards (most mid-level golds and similar) that lots of people are going to want. Either to complete sets or because the player is popular. As Fitz said, it's a lot of rinse and repeat (I've probably flipped the same 10 cards a hundred times. I find the sweet spot as far as quick turned around versus profit to be in the 6-15K range. While you can make more in 1 take flipping a 50K card, it takes longer for that card to flip (less people shopping for a 50k card)

One of the funniest tells in BR is when the opposing player never even sets their lineup. I did it the very first time I played because I didn't get it. Catcher leading off is so funny to me especially when Ted Williams is batting 7th.

Holy balls, I just had the craziest Battle Royale game. The kid I was playing had a mic and talked nonstop throughout the game. I had to mute it just to stop being distracted. He doubled in a run in the top of the third to make it 1-0 and I was furious. I was down to 2 outs in the bottom with Billy Hamilton up and him on bunt defense. 2 strikes.... WHACK Hamilton, HAMILTON got a no doubt home run over the green monster... wtf? We went to 6 innings until I smacked a home run past the pesky pole with Chris Davis for a walk off win. What a game.

I don't really have a whole lot to spend my stubs on anymore other than rookie missions so I bought 2 20 packs. First one had rookie Bumgarner (sold for 42k) and the second one had 2012 Romo (sold for 24k). I feel like they're upping the odds in the packs because of Madden.

That seems to be the general consensus on the forums -- that they have upped the odds off Rookie FBs specifically due to Madden.

That being said, its also driven the market prices down considerably (10-25% already)

I bought a 20 pack got RFB Cano. Sold for 25k. Bought another pack and got RFB Andrew Miller (worthless).

The strikeouts missions for rookie pitchers are way too annoying. I have friends that will let me grind with them, but it defeats the purpose of the challenge.

Ok, so I was on theshownation.com today and they had a posting about the limited "baseball is better" pack. Even though I'm trying to save up for the last 3 Mariners cards to complete the set, I got suckered into buying it because it was 7 player cards with 1 guaranteed silver. Well, as I should have expected, I ended up with absolute garbage along with a silver 78 relief pitcher or something. Sad. And now I'm back to 905 stubs, since that pack cost 2500. Super sad.

So, I read a thread on Operation Sports about card flipping and have been playing the market today, and I'm back up over 1200 stubs in just a little bit. I need to bank some more so I can get some more profit-laden flippable cards, but it's a good start for now!

Yep, you'll find your rhythm with the card flipping. Though, I'm afraid with Madden coming out, the market will become a ghost town. Packs always have terrible chances. They're like lottery tickets.
