getting the 848s instead of the 248 chips was justl ike setting fire to $1500 though? why.

well, if he can afford to spend $10000 on a comp, y not get ripped off to reach that $10000 limit? otherwise, he'd have leftover, which he doesnt seem to want or care for.

Why are you guys all shortchanging on the HD space? A 10k computer should have more than 144GB. I was thinking of something more along the lines of a SuperTrak SX6000 and 6 250GB HDs. On RAID 5, that would yield 1TB of storage.

Heh, a nicely set up one will exceed that budget. If its actually "fully loaded" (if you meant all the possible stuff you could add on) you will go WAY over that budget.

Well, excluding loading it with a bunch of XVR cards and such, just memory, CPU's, and such, lands it just a little over the budget, and it'll make one hell of a bragging box

The TWO 23" Apple Cinema Displays that I linked earlier together would be cheaper than that, and each 23" Apple Cinema Display is the same resolution as that Samsung 241T. (It's US$1999 for each display, and $99 for each ADC->DVI converter.)
