Burticus, that doesn't add up.

If the average iso is about 600 MB = 4800 Mbit

4800/7 min.=685 Mb/min.=11.4 Mbps

So, unless you are running a 10Mbps NIC, your network card isn't the bottleneck. Time to defrag your hard drive! Even then, a 100Mbps NIC will be more than sufficient for your system.

To all those worring about maxing out their NICs / transferring speed, I have a question. So you guys are running 64bit PCI bus motherboards and not the 32bit, huh?

normally you would find gigabit speed on 64bit 66mhz PCI slots. Gigabit is coming to the masses now and 33mhz 32bit PCI slots do just fine. Next paycheck 2 will be mine...

1 in my workstation and the other in my fileserver. I just queue everything to dl from the fileserver and RIP it on my workstation...gosh what a great idea..
