I just talked to a CSR. Seem like you can get it for a total of $200 w/ coupon but, no 64MB CF media until Sunday. Guess I'll wait until then.

That's what's been said about 3 times already in this thread PLUS the thread title says [10.6-10.13] which means the SALE DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL SUNDAY 10/6!

austin316 - Yes you can but not all OM B&M's will accept the online coupon. When I bought my Canon A40 a few months ago I first called my local OM to see if it's ok they said yes, so I hung up drove over there and asked to speak with the same person who helped me on the phone. She grabbed a new digicam, free 128MB CF, we went to the register and she deducted $50 from my price. It's recommended to call first and make sure you print it on a black and white laser printer (an inkjet is ok but a laser printer looks more presentable) also add the Canon A40 to your cart and add the coupon as well, print and take that with you.

SIDEARMS - That's alright I think aloud all the time, usually it gets me in trouble though

look30 - It's usually common sense that you add sales tax unless it's a Dell Home deal (which has no sales tax in most states). Then again I never pay sales tax or pump my own gas, because ... I live in Oregon

It appears the deal is active now. It's showing on officemax.com at any rate. I didn't see anything about it starting Sunday.

The $249 price is, but the 64MB CF card is not.

I see it ... From OM's site...

To take advantage of the special offer, enter a quantity of 1 next to the appropriate "BUND" item number.

For $214 including taxes and shipping, I gots me a new Canon A40 with a 64MB card. Thanks for the heads up. This forum is saving me a lot of money, yet its causing me to go broke. Go figure.

There is a contradiction on the OM A40 page.

At the top it says a 32 meg card is free but down at the bottom where you type in the quantity it says a 64 meg card is free.

I ordered one though and the description that showed up on the receipt says 64 meg so the "32 meg" is a typo as far as I'm concerned.

I added a roll of $1.88 tape to get above $250 and used the $50 off $250 discount.

The total came to $218.51 after taxes. Shipping was free.

The receipt says the camera is backordered. The CF card is in stock.

The item number for the compact flash card showed up as 20173161 on the receipt. I looked it up. It's Lexar.

The sale started early.

Thanks a bunch !!

I allready have my $50 credit back to my card, I love OM and these forums I bought the canon S820 photo printer to go with A40 and brought it back to staples today so i can order it through dell for $188 minus $50 MIR total $138 for nice printer. I will try to PM at staples before ordering through Dell though.

I remember that you could hook up the camera to your computer via USB cable and take pictures with the bundled software, but I'm not 100% sure about webcam functionality. Besides, wouldn't it be kind of hard to aim without a tripod? Personally I'd feel pretty uneasy setting the A40 down on top of some makeshift stand. *shrug* The 2 or 10 second delay function is pretty nice though.

I just made the plunge. 1 day shipping for me in Illinois. Of course, the $.29 paperclips are 3-day, I'm sure they will cost them $3 to ship. Maybe some day they will get a clue that pricing things a hair below coupon price really hurts their bottom line!

Any suggestions on card-reader or other accessory deals? This is my first digital camera.

I've been watching the slew of A40 deals over the past few weeks, and I finally caved.

I just ordered, it came to $215 and change shipped. It didn't mention anything of being backordered to me, but we'll see...

Take a closer look at the receipt. The "COB" code means the item is backordered.
