Went into BB the other day and tried to buy a monitor with it. Was told it wouldn't work with a monitor. Now, I know it's a matter of contention and I think some people have bought monitors with the coupon so I tried to reason with the chaps but it was no go. I now think I shouldn't have asked and just pulled it out for the check out person to scan, 'cause that worked with a HD and HD's weren't listed on the coupon either. Anyway, it turned out they didn't have any of those monitors in stock, so we ordered from BB online on one of the BB boxes on the floor and got free shipping... YMMV, of course.

The best way to deal with the clerk who struggles to verify if your item qualifies, is to say:

"Could you please try to scan the coupon in and see if the register accepts it?"

On my five attempts where the clerk questioned whether the coupon could be applied, the register ALWAYS accepted it, but as usual, (Y)our (M)ileage (M)ay (V)ary...

Good luck. My advice - don't ask a floor person if it's OK or they may tell you no, can't or not. They are programmed to say "no." Take your camera to the checkout clerk and hand over the coupon. I think your odds of success are significantly better doing it this way. Been there, done that.

Thanks! Just went to BestBuy in North Olmsted,OH and walked out with Klipsch 5.1's for $385.19 out the door. It's a little more than i would have spent had I bought them online, but, if I ever have a problem, it's local. Plus, i used a Sears MC and they double the manufacturers warranty. Nice.
