I called the local store in Oklahoma City and they ended the promotion at 3:00pm central time.
They said that they were told to remove the signs and quit the promotion, they claim they were told nothing else.
(The promotion was supposed to go through tomorrow, September 28th.)

I called their Customer Service number at 1-818-265-3435 and was told they didn't know anything about
the promotion, but they were receiving calls from other people across the USA asking what was going on.
They gave me the following number, 1-818-265-4660, which is the "Official" Disney Store customer service
number. If you call though, you end up leaving a message on an answering machine instead of talking to a live person.

In these times when Big Businesses are going out of business, it is actions like these which makes it perfectly clear why they are. If anyone else finds out what is going on, please let us all know.

Feel free to call one of the above numbers and let them know you don't like this kind of "promotion"

Just Got home from Disney Store.

Employees were telling people that is was to end on saturday and they killed it at three, The manager told me that @ about noon there was some concern over the NUMBER OF UNITS BEING SOLD:Q They discounted these DVD's to half price and they were flying off the shelves:Q Can you beleive that?

I left a message on 1-800-689-0789 press 2 for "Guest Relations" that is the number the manager gave me she was pretty Hot because she hadn't bought her's because the sale was through saturday!

Remember DONOT GET MAD AT THE STORE EMPLOYEES they did not do anything IT WAS NOT THEIR CHOICE TO KILL THIS.

This sale was a total kick in the swimsuit area to working joe's. The sale was only available to soccer mom's or executives that have 3 hour lunch breaks. But to the rest of us then we got the shaft. Argh!

Im going to take my vengeance out on disney by NOT keeping my arms inside the boat when i go on the Jungle Cruise. Lets see how he likes it...

This is a REPOST to DRAW ATTENTION. As one who works in sales, you can NEVER underestimate Wal-mart. Wal-mart could have said sell to us at $10 as well via wholesale. Disney said no and ended the sale. Wal-mart CONTROLS the USA for retail sales. If you don't believe that, then research how they demand and change things their way all the time. Don't get me wrong though, I love the big retailers and their prices!!

If money and profit are the object then sell as many as you can. Disney owns the STORES AND THE MOVIES. They don't pay a wholesaler $15 for the movie, all they pay is dvd cost (roughly $2 per disc shipped to store). Selling them for $10 when they OWN THE MOVIE is still big profit. The people who should be pissed are Wal-mart, Target, K-mart, Best Buy, Circuity City, etc.

Who wants to bet that there wasn't some back door negotiating today with the big honchos at those other large corportate stores being real pissed that Disney was dumping titles at $10 in the Disney store, yet selling them to Best Buy and Wal-mart at $15-$16 (wholesale price on a $20-$25 title). I smell a conspiracy (or some real stupid Disney marketing people). And they do this for fiscal profit 3 months before Christmas. Very interesting.

I was able to get through to 'Guest Relations' using the number and selecting a different option and then having that person transfer me to a real live person. I spoke with "Joe" who is supposed to be the top person that you and I, the customer, can talk to.

He said that "Corporate" decided to end the promotion early and no explaination will be given to the general public. He did assure me that all of the comments left on their answering machine will be forwarded up to corporate next week, which does all of us working people a whole lot of good. He also kept stating that they reserved the right to stop any promotion at any time.

What really irks me is that Disney's target market should be the family. Yet those of us with a spouse and children who do work for a living get the shaft. Please leave a message on the toll free number above to let them know how you feel.

And if any Disney employee knows why this was cancelled, please let us all know. Thanks!

Same story here at Stratford Square Mall (Carol Stream IL)...

I was told by both of the underlings on duty that the promo was killed this morning by corporate with no explanation. I asked if this was normal operating procedure and they replied "yes, we are often told to cancel promotions without any explanation".

So there you have it - another wasted drive to the store that regularly drains my thin wallet!

Same story here. Disney Store in MD ended promo at 3pm. The staff and management was very apologetic to customers and ticked that corporate ended the promo early. The said they received a fax yesterday about the $10 DVD sale and put them on sale at 8pm last night, then they received a fax around noon telling them to pull the promo at 3pm. Disney store staff was really upset and bitter that it ended early..seems they were telling their friends and customers the sale was through Saturday, most of the employees put off purchases thinking they had till Saturday only to find out the promo ended early.

I went to the Disney store in Lynwood, WA (Alderwood Mall) @ around 2:00-2:30pm. When asked, the lady at the counter said they pulled the promotion at 12noon. Seeing that I looked very disappointed, she said she'll honor my purchase but I was not to inform anyone else.

I got very lucky on this deal. Purchased 6 DVDs for around $65 tax included. Thanks to the very generous salesperson and thanks for the post.

I too made the trek down to the Disney Store & was told that the promo had ended early. I gave them a call thanks for the ph number Fritomonk & let them know how dissapointed I was. We'll see what if any their response is.

Thanks for the deal though The_Dude8 awesome post if it only would have lasted more than a few hours.
