I did a DNS lookup and then a whois search.
The IP address does indeed belong to Polaroid in Waltham, MA. Turns out I know the sysop.
I used to work there until they went down the tubes. Got 1/2 my severance pay before the checks stopped coming. Got hundreds of shares of stock that I had to buy for ~$30 a share and was not allowed to sell. Polaroid sold them for me........ for about 10 cents each!
The cameras are good for people pictures and capturing the moment. And, you can pass around the picture for viewing while you keep the camera and take more photos or simply keep the camera out of the hands of fumble fingered drunks who would drop it on the floor.
Film is expensive, over $1 a picture. No batteries to buy for the larger cameras though. I can't afford the film any longer.
Digital is great for sharing later. These pics are great for sharing right now.
