10" Tablet Recommendation

want to buy a 10"+ android tablet for
email
youtube
netflix
web browsing
angry birds/jewels/etc

no apples (would have to pay me to own one).
no winrt (another apple wanna be).
maybe win8.1 (nice but hardware can get expensive and not necessary)

biggest concerns are:
#1. ips screen (for good viewing angles)
#2. excellent wifi sensor
#3. excellent battery life (absolute minimum 6hr+ of watching video)
others. mSD expansion slot. usb slot.

and of course a good purchase price

I'd say a Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The AMOLED screen is better than any other tablet screen I've seen. I have the Tab S 8.4" and those use cases are what I use them for. Touchwiz is a bit laggy but not unbearable.

This. Simply the best tablet out there. Not perfect, but better than any other.

If I were to spend tab S money on an android tablet, I'd get the note version for like $50 more. Capacitive stylus is worth it.

Don't know how I feel about the Tab S. I saw a really bad screen burn-in on that thing at a Bestbuy. I have not seen AMOLED burn-in on any other device in person. And the tablet for some reason screams "I am the first gen!" to me. I would probably skip that one unless you upgrade tablets often.

I don't have a tablet myself (don't really need one), but my gf has a Galaxy Tab S and she seems pretty satisfied with it.

given the intended task. even a no name generic 10" tablet ($80) from tiger direct would suffice. after all - this tablet intended duty will be nothing more than a 10" smart phone without the phone part.

sometimes you do get what you pay for. am "afraid" that the $80 tablet will come with a tn panel with poor viewing angle, where it will die within 2 hours of usage and with poor wifi connection.




as for the galaxy tab s ($500). at that price point. might as well get a win8.1 transformer tablet. or a pre-owned surface pro3.

speaking of win8.1 tablet. microcenter's 10.1" winbook tablet for $200 is a nice offer. quad core baytrail cpu /w intel hd gpu w/ 2gb ram w/ 32gb storage w/ 1280x800 resolution.




same concerns: ips screen, good battery, good wifi.
