+9... haven't run much at all. It was good to get out and do 5 today. I surprised myself with a 7-min pace, too so I'm excited! Between mountain biking on the weekends and the girlfriend, running is one of the things that has taken a slide this summer.

Finally bought some new running shoes (the old ones were WAAAY past their prime), and wow what a difference. I knocked off almost 45 seconds off of my best 2-mile time thanks to these shoes. On my old shoes my knees and shins would be hurting after about a mile, but now the only thing keeping me back is my conditioning.

56 since I last posted including the Utica Boilermaker 15K in 56:07. Not my best time but I was tired from 2 hard workouts the week before and going to bed late the previous few nights. Not a bad race though. Need to keep the mileage up though; I've been inconsistent lately!

I did another 5 miles with my son tonight on the Interlocken Trail, the trail that my last race was on. We picked the most technical portion, with the worst of the roots and rocks and hauled ass. I really think my knees are rehabbed, I didn't have any problems at all. It's good to be back.

I managed to squeeze in 16 while on vacation these last 3 weeks. But I also walked (and cycled a bit) many, many miles on the streets of lots of lovely European cities, some of them while toting a too-heavy backpack, so while my lungs are a bit out of shape, the rest of me should be ready to get right back to it.

I also got some nice blisters, including the multi-layer kind you get from blistering the same spot over and over The interesting thing is that my feet were much more comfortable while running rather than walking, even in the same running shoes.
