+10 miles on the Crooked lake/potawatomi trail today. Started to rain as soon as I got there and quickly turned into a driving thunderstorm with torrential rain for 8 of the 10 miles. It was an incredible run watching the trees shake and the rain pour down. Ended up donating a bit of skin and blood to the trail gods. I thought it was a good idea to bomb down a long downhill and ended up losing my footing in the muck and sliding ass first down the rest of the downhill. But damn what a fantastic borderline spiritual run.

That's my kind of run there.

5.6 really boring paved suburban trail miles in the dark this morning.

After yesterdays thunderstorm trail run...today was oppressive heat and humidity just did a quick and easy 28 minute 5K in 90 degrees heat at 8pm at night. Yuck.

Another quick and easy 5K because the heat was unbearable. This one a bit faster pace 27:15 compared to 28 flat last night.

6.4 mile tempo/race, lots of people running tonight and a couple tried racing me but after letting them pass me for about fifty feet, I kicked it into another gear and ran the last three miles not looking back with nobody passing me.

Starting to have problems running at night. Feel like I'm going to trip on unsmooth surfaces. I used to run with a headlamp in my hand and turn it on when needed. Don't know why but I haven't done it in years, may have to start doing it again unless I can get myself running in the morning.

+ 204 for me. I sprained my ankle about a month ago and didn't really run for two weeks, but am back in the swing of things now!

Starting a one week taper today with a speedwork that knocked 40 seconds of my previous PR 5K. 24:25 today. Awesome.

5 miles at what I thought was an easy 10min/mile pace, but when I finished my phone said I averaged 8:52min/mile 44:37. Whoops. Supposed to be taper week.
