I hear you. I can't imagine looking forward to running in the 80's. I think maybe the 50's or 60's is my sweet spot. The least amount of sweating without it being cold. I look forward to the day, sometime after retirement, where I can move someplace that'll thin my blood. Who knows, maybe I'll be a snow bird.
I still broke a sweat even at 6 degrees. Just not rearly as much as when it's 30 degrees. I ran with a fleece neck warmer that I'd pull up over my mouth and nose when the wind wasn't at my back. After my 2 mile run, I stop in and grab my dog to take her for her morning walk. By the time I got up the block (literally, 1 block), I pulled the neck warmer over my face and found that the part that had been over my mouth had frozen. Not solid, but certainly stiff. I'll have to put it on as soon as I leave the house today. No more waiting until I feel the cold. Previously, the coldest I had recorded running in was 13 degrees.
