13.1 miles today.
Did my first half marathon. It turned out to be not only my worst race, but probably the single worst run I have ever had. My left IT Band flared up at mile 3, which even being prone to such problems is very early on a run for me. By mile 6 I was in trouble, but kept going. I started walking the water stops. At about mile 8 my right knee must have felt left out and it flared up as well. I pretty much went into survival mode, dropped my pace way down and tried to think happy thoughts.
I ended up finishing in 2:10, about 20 minutes slower than my normal pace during training. I'm not sure I ever really broke a sweat. At least I gritted it out I guess. Time to take a couple of weeks off and then see how things feel after that.
