I took a training day off today. I'm sooo tired, I fell asleep eating dinner tonight. Hopefully I feel well rested tomorrow, I plan on doing 12 miles with my son.
It is isn't it? I like how I'm always in a good mood after a run. I don't like how I get cranky if I miss a run.Originally posted by: venkman

:camera: of your new dog?
That reminds me...last night I ran hill repeats on a nearby trail, and there was a guy out walking his three dogs. As I came down the hill after my first rep, I said hi and let him know I would be coming back up the hill a few more times (so as not to surprise him or his dogs).
On the second rep, I saw the smallest of the three dogs wandering further down the trail, but the dog turned around and started up the hill when I passed it. I saw the guy further up and he asked if I had seen his small dog. I said that the dog was heading up the hill when I saw it.
I came down after the second rep and the guy was calling out for his dog. I didn't see it but I told him I would let him know if I did. As I approached the bottom of the hill, I saw the dog sitting patiently next to the guy's van, across the street.
I charged back up the hill on my third repeat and as I approached the guy, I told him his dog was sitting next to his van. He thanked me and rushed back down the trail to his van.
As I came back down the hill, the guy waved to me and thanked me for helping him find his dog. I told him he was welcome and wished him a good night. Despite the cold rain and my legs feeling like dump, it warmed my heart to see the man and his dogs reunited, and I had a bit of extra jump on that final rep.
The funny thing is, I got home and realized I actually should have done a tempo run, not hill repeats. I misread the training schedule haha. But because of that mistake, I helped a stranger find his dog. Strange, eh?

And nice job! When I lived in CA, I once saw a dog run away from the beach. I ran after it for several miles and was able to finally able to tackle him while hiding behind a car. Luckily, he had tags and I was able to call and get the dog owner to come and pick us up.
They were horrible the other night on the CVTs. I looked over at Adam and there were dozens of the bastards flying around him. I can only assume that there was a similar swarm of them around my head, too. I beat a dozen of them off of his back before it was all said and done.Originally posted by: SWScorch
10 miles in Mendon Ponds. Deerflies were not too happy with me encroaching on their territory. 6688
