Great idea, unfortunately by the time my running cycle comes around you guys will likely be at 1000 already.

No worries; I'm planning to extend the thread once we reach the first goal, similar to the pushups thread.

Planned on running 20 on Saturday but got food poisoning or a stomach bug friday night. Couldn't keep anything down besides Gatorade all weekend.
Forced out 4.4 miles just now.

Riding buddies help a lot. I've enlisted my son for that role. Also, ride in new places, the change in scenery keeps your mind fresh.Originally posted by: SWScorch

Just let your mind wander. I love long runs the best; when you get in the zone you can cover 20 miles without even realizing it. Strangely enough, though, I get bored to the point of exasperation after 5 minutes on a bike...

I enjoy the peace of running outdoors. It allows me to clear my head. I also run along the river in the city so there's lots of sites and scenery plus tons of people and other runners. I'm always finding myself trying to pass other runners or trying not to get passed. It keeps me on my toes.
The only time it gets boring has been the winter and running at night with only a few other runners out there but I have a mp3 player going to assist.
