Thanks for the tip, I'll maybe have a look at that. I always assumed that having that extra weight hanging at the end of my arm would throw me off. I wonder if you guys, as trail runners, are more resilient to that sort of thing because you're used to inconsistent terrains and cadences already. Not that that makes it easier of course...
We just switch hands to compensate for that. Once you get used to it it becomes a non-issue.

You should borrow and try that camelback. I am so happy with my Stinger, I'm sure it's going to be invaluable on my longer runs.

All right!!! Doctor says I only have tendinitis and can resume running as long as I progress slowly and cautiously and consume enough ibuprofen to kill a yak meanwhile! So I did 3 miles today and the foot felt good! Now I'm off to the gym to bike as 20 minutes is nowhere near enough aerobic activity for me in a day!

Excellent news my friend. Just be nice to your liver, you need that for the long haul.

Bah! I'm Irish, dude; the liver is evil and must be punished! I prefer using more liquid forms of torture on it though; it goes down easier and results in much more fun!

4 miles today nice and easy. Felt more out of shape today than I did on Tuesday. But the foot still feels good!

I was getting ready to go running when work called... Yet another run ruined by a needy power plant. Tomorrow it's someone elses turn, I'm not answering the phone.

Got the 12 miler in today, finally. The trails were beautiful, 2 inches of fresh powder and there was a slow falling of snow the whole time. Awesome.

Weather could not have been better on the Toronto waterfront today. Slight breeze, about -5C and sunny and clear. I could see for miles along the shore. Did 27k, but man am I beat. 39k on the week.

Well I don't know about you two, kamper and Megatomic, but I'm glad it warmed up today. It was 10 this morning and while I ran in ~22F yesterday, 12 cooler did not sound appealing. But, it warmed up nicely to about 32 this afternoon so all is well.

+17 for the week:

It was 20 or 22 F when I ran today, but the wind was negligible for most of my time out due to trees and hills. It was nearly perfect for a winter day in NY.

25km today; 55 miles for the week.

Moving into actual workouts this week and I'll try to actually do daily posts.

I feel so lazy compared to you guys!

I hate winter...Spring and Summer will get me back out on the streets walking with my wife and we'll do 4 to 8 miles per day....every day.

4 miles today. Foot felt a bit sore after Saturday's 6-miler, so I took yesterday off and dropped to 4 today. Foot felt good on today's run.

8-ish miles at 5:30am with a guy that I know from the Running Times forum. He just did a 50K but I had to push to keep up with him! We ran alongside the river into downtown and back and kept up a steady conversation the whole time. It was a really great run and my foot felt good!

We got a 5 miler in on some hilly roads today, 8.5mph on average. It started snowing really heavily during our last mile.

First time posting in this thread, or anywhere in health and fitness for that matter. I got the Nike + sensor and a HRM for Xmas this year and started running "regularly" for the first time in my 30 years on 23JAN. I've run 9 times since then, totaling 19 miles. I'm slow as molasses, but getting faster (first mile on the 23rd - 13m49s, last mile today - 9m34s), and feeling better with each run. I've lost 8lbs already! All this keeping track of distance/times/HR has really helped me stay motivated. Today I logged 2 hard earned miles, in 16F and blowing snow. I'm ready for spring.

I love the stats too, if for no other reason than that it makes me want to go out and build on them Reminds me of playing civilization as kid, where I would corner my enemy and then just build cities for max population for the rest of the game.
