Any of you guys running the Boston Marathon? I thought SWScorch was running.

Just got back from Boston Marathon Sports Expo. The energy and good looking women definitely get you fired up for running. Wish I wasn't injured.

12 miles this morning. Rain and sleet started to fall just when we got to within a mile of the car. Talk about good timing.

I've got two buddies running Boston this year. One is Scorch, the other is a guy who I worked with back in my Navy days. I'm rooting for both, kick some ass guys!

Another 12 on the trail this morning. My legs hurt at my 50M pace so I had to run faster... That seems counterintuitive to me, but oh well.

Only about 11k this week. Ankle's feeling good though.

Best of luck to Boston runners tomorrow!

Scorch's bib: 1514

Looks like he didn't PR, but still had a decently solid run.

Hmm, to be honest I thought he would be faster given his incredible training of late, even though Boston is a tough course. I guess we'll have to wait for the full report.

I can't imagine running that fast for that long... Good job Scorch, enjoy the post race festivities.

Yeah, he has been having some incredible training but he did come off an ankle(?) injury, pushed the mileage up quickly, and I dunno if he got the full benefits of having spaced out long runs.

IMO coming off an injury and less than 4 months later running a sub 3:00 isn't too shabby

PS: I too am looking forward to his update.

Edit: I do agree though, he's got a lot more potential than that (and therefore he might be a little upset with not PRing)

I wasn't trying to be hard on him or anything; I still think it's a great result. You're right, he did have that injury to work through.

Hey guys, just checking in real quick. Thanks for thinking about me while I was running Boston! My training was actually quite light lately; I only had one week at 80mpw and haven't been doing any workouts at all, so I was not expecting a very fast time. My goals were to: finish upright, have fun, and sneak under 3:00 if possible. I accomplished all 3 with a 2:59:30! I even had enough left in the tank for a 6:00 last mile and a pretty good final kick too! I took the hills reeeaaalll easy as I did go out a bit faster than I wanted and did not want to be reduced to the marathon shuffle at any point. I will probably post a longer report sometime, and when I have a bit more time on my hands I will add in all of my accumulated mileage since I last posted, but I just wanted to let you guys know how it went! Thanks again!

Been a while here... two weeks in Europe didn't lend themselves to much running, though my bro and I managed to run around Florence, Italy (through the sculpture garden with Michelangelo's stuff, getting yelled at by the security guard...)

14 today was a killer; I hope I can walk tomorrow!

Nice running, Scorcher! How did you feel afterward?
