On a separate note, I finally did my first trail run! It was the Jalapeno 10K in San Antonio. I have to say, trail running kicks road racing's ass anyday of the week. Wow. I wish there were some in the Dallas area, but it's such a rush running through the woods. The slippery rocks/roots/etc made it challenging but I think that's why I liked it so much.
I did a very hilly 9 miler tonight. My cardio was awesome even on the long uphill hauls, I feel pretty good all in all, like I'm about ready for the big one.

Hill running really is an exciting niche specialty within running. I think the varied terrain, along with the feeling of constantly being on the edge of losing control is the appeal. I will definitely be doing at least one trail race next summer. Congrats on your first one RB!
And Mega - great to hear your fitness is where it needs to be as the taper nears.
