12 miles yesterday, and another 12 today with 5x mile repeats on the track in 5:33, 5:39, 5:28, 5:32, 5:22. Ran shirtless and it was glorious!!

I've gained 6 lbs in the past month with no real diet change except my post-run protein drink.

The only other change is the increase in running. Is it possible to gain 6 lbs of muscle that fast with just running?

I did 10 on trails yesterday. Solo. My boy was helping his little cousin present his science fair project. It sucks to run solo when you've had a partner for 3 years, but he's going off to college this fall so I have to get used to it. I need a dog...

26(.2) this morning. Probably started a bit fast. Did the first half in 1:41. Legs started to give out at mile 17. Hit the wall at mile 21. The last 5 miles were hell on earth. Managed to finish in 3:38. Not too bad considering I did my first 5K one year ago to the date.

Great job! Do you have another event in your sights?

+9.5, tried to run without eating per recommendation from some random website as a way to supposedly increase glycogen / fat breakdown efficiency. The entire thing sucked and I felt like I had no gas.

Also still trying to figure out how to fit in workouts on days I work. I literally stand and walk around for 12-14 hours a day so when I finish my feet always hurt and I'm exhausted.

Been a while since I posted. But since I just finished a marathon here in Seoul yesterday, figured I'd do a mega update. There are quite a few runs I didn't do with my GPS watch so they're not recorded, but we'll just count the total mileage of my GPS: 623 miles.

Nice job, drteming! That is very impressive indeed! Pretty amazing that you improved so much in one year!

4 miles this morning and 6 miles this evening for me.

6.5 miles

I have absolutely no feel for pace. Some days I feel like I'm running slow but I'm still hitting my nominal splits. Sometimes I feel like I'm running at a normal pace but I'm actually running super slow. I think my perception is bad enough I may have to buy a Garmin.

Are you always the same terrain or do you have some variety? If you are running a hilly road route versus technical singletrack versus smooth rail trails then you'd have different paces and different PLE (perceived level of exertion).

10 miles on the hillest, muddiest trails I could find in a park by my house. Take that, toenails and brand new white socks! Yah!!
