Are you always the same terrain or do you have some variety? If you are running a hilly road route versus technical singletrack versus smooth rail trails then you'd have different paces and different PLE (perceived level of exertion).

Same routes, I don't have much variety in my routine right now. I'll look down at my watch passing certain key points in my route and see times completely different than what I'm expecting relative to the pace I think I'm at.

+3.5 miles

I probably shouldn't have ran today because my leg was hurting enough so I had a small limp. There was only sharp pain if I ran faster than a certain pace but if I kept it slow it was easily tolerable.

Also my new protein powder is nasty (Muscle Milk Banana Creme). I have to use two scoops of this stuff to get the same protein as one scoop of my old kind. This stuff mixed is really, really thick; it's impossible to just gulp down, I almost have to bite chunks off.

Haven't been on AT for a while which means I have a few weeks I haven't posted here.
30 miles two weeks ago and 29 last week.

First time running since the marathon. My left foot still hurts. 3.1 miles at 6:50 pace.

6 + 6 + 10 + 10. Wasn't able to run as much as I would have liked this week (barely hit 70 miles total); life got in the way but I'm ok with it. Those two 6-mile days were my first single-digit days since the 11th.

5 hilly road miles today. solo. I can't imagine a more boring run than the one I just endured.

+3. Did my first slightly competitive 5k on Saturday morning, came in 16 out of 36 for my age/gender group. Clearly still room for improvement, but it was pretty satisfying considering that two years ago I could barely run a mile.

10 miles yesterday and again today. Great job, ichy! That's awesome that you can look back and see how much you've improved!

+3.5. Ugly weather so I ran indoors, adding a 2% incline to the treadmill certainly adds a challenge.

I paced my fast female friend T for her workout today. 4K @ 5:44 pace, 3K @ 5:40 pace, 2K @ 5:36 pace and 1K @ 5:28 pace. We hit those times pretty well, and with warmup, cooldown and recovery we got 12 miles in for the day. Good times!

Dropped my car off at the shop (oil change, new brakes and rotors, new rear strut assemblies - eek!) and ran back - 8 miles. Will probably go for another 4 or so tonight. I wore my Saucony Mirages (best shoe ever!) and my Patagonia running backpack with my pants and jacket and wallet and it felt pretty comfortable actually!

Sounds like a nice run, Mega! That is awesome that all 3 of your kids went with you! Must be great to be able to something fun and active with them all.

13.1 My knee hates me. Every 1/2 it feels awful somewhere between 9 and 11. Oh well, toughing out the last few miles is grueling but rewarding.
