Nice! Spring home of the Tigers!

I'll be in Davenport in 2 weeks visiting the girlfriends family. Already looking forward to running in the heat!
That's just over half an hour away, we should totally get together for a run and a beer. Mursilis can vouch for me.

I'd love to if I get the chance. Me and the girlfriend will be planning out our itinerary this weekend and if I've got some free time then I'll let you know. Like I said, I'm visiting girlfriends family so they come first, but I already told my girlfriend I'd be finding a local trail or park to run while we are there so hopefully we can at least meet up for a run at minimum.

I can?!?

Yeah, Mega's a good guy. And a run and a beer in Florida sound very, very tempting right now as I watch those weather reports about yet another big winter storm heading our way. Ugh...

5 miles, still wearing the stoopid IT band strap, but was able to run at full speed without pain. Hopefully the worst of it is behind me.

Another 9 last Sunday (02-02), 21 for the week.

My phone keeps on losing BT. I'll be running and I hear my headset go out. I look at my phone and my BT HRM is gone also. So, I check out the BT section and see it is 'Off'. I try to turn it back on and it won't go on. I reboot the phone and it'll be on (which tells me something is up. If I turn BT off, when I reboot the phone it stays off). It gets aggravating, but I sent in a service request and I now have to follow their suggestions. Then report back with how it worked out.

I recently celebrated my 47th birthday, so after running 9 miles for the last 3 Sundays, this Sunday I ran 11.2 miles in 1:31:55. I can't believe how much worse I felt for the last 2 miles. Still, I'm not complaining. I averaged a 8:12 pace with a fastest mile of 7:53 and a slowest mile of 8:28. Not too bad for an old man. I figure that even if I felt terrible, I should have been able to run 2 more miles at least at a 9 min / mile pace. That would put me just under 1:50 for a half marathon. Around 18 months ago I ran 13.2 in 1:58:xx, so I guess I'm improving. I signed up for the Brooklyn Half Marathon with my niece, but that is in 14 weeks. If I run with her, my pace will be WAY off. Maybe I'll try and find another Half Marathon in between...

Congrats on the move Mega. I wish you the best!

Thanks deadken, and yes not too bad for an old man. I'm 44 and happy I can run as I do. But for the record, some of my biggest running idols are older. Age just makes us better/wiser runners.

True! One of the fastest people in my local club is a woman in the 50-54 range. She still runs half marathons in the mid 1:30's!

Yup. Seen it here too. Trail half marathon last August male age group winner for 60-64 won in 1:31: xx. Same guy ran a trail 5K with me as well and ran 22:48. He's fast as hell despite being 62.

4 miles tonight. I've been too sick to run this week so it felt good to get even a few miles in finally.

Hurt my back on Thursday shoveling snow, had PT yesterday and felt good enough to do 10 miles running the Newton Hills back and forth, ran up and down Heartbreak Hill several times for good measure.

It's a good thing I ran that 11miles last Sunday. I got a whopping 2 more runs in during the week. NY has just been getting pounded by snowstorms. Where I work, I get called in if the weather is going to be bad. So, I racked up some OT hours this week instead of miles. 4hrs. Monday morning, 4 Thursday morning, 4hrs Thursday evening, 4 hrs Friday morning and 16 hours on Saturday. At least with Sundays run I completed 15 for the week (I ran 2 miles Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning). I was hoping to get some mileage in on Saturday, but I got called in early and the storm arrived late. So, instead of getting out and going for a run, I did another shift. Sheesh.... 32 hours of OT in one week from snow. Maybe I'll buy myself another piece of running gear...

EDIT: I'm going out for a run now. I'll just see how far I feel like going. Believe it or not, I'm tired.

4.4 miles this morning. Last 2 runs in my new Bondi B 3s. There is a physical/mechanical learning curve involved here. PLE much higher for the same pace compared to when I'm wearing my speedy shoes. But man are they comfortable.
