Monday - Boston Marathon 26.2 miles

Absolutely miserable conditions - rain, 40 degrees with a 25mph headwind

My feet were numb by mile 5 and even with only 2 months of training and three different injuries, I was 2:04 at 13.1 but turning at the Fire House and going up the hills, my knee started locking-up. Forcing me to stop then walk til it unlocked before I could run again and within 1/4 mile it would lock up again. My time and psyche were killed from it.

Brought extra set of gloves but even changing them at the half way mark, my hands were still numb. After passing BC, I wanted to digest some Cliffshot Blocks but I couldn't open it and had to stop to ask a police officer to open the package for me.

After crossing the Finish Line, my legs completely tightened up and it took me a hour in the pouring rain to get to my Team's Watch Party. Once, I got a chance to change out of my wet clothes and warm up, my legs felt so much better.

Well, another Boston Marathon in the books.

Congratulations on finishing, and too bad about the weather. Seeing it was cold and wet did make me feel a little less bummed about missing the race, however.

64 miles in April.
2 miles May 2nd
13.1 miles today.

Ran my first race since I was in high school (which was an unfortunate very long time ago). I ran the Colorado Marathon's Half Marathon this morning and finished with a 1:49 and 253rd out of 1500 which I was very pleased with considering that I've only been running since mid Jan. Not that I have a lot of experience with marathons, but I have to say that the Colorado Marathon was an extremely well organized event and the course is truly gorgeous.

Nice!

That is a respectable time in any case, but even more impressive since it is your first (second running life) race!

32 for the week.

Did a 12 mile run this morning, and the heat and humidity were killers. It isn't supposed to hit mid 80's this time of year!

Just completed my first ever 10k. I've gone further but never in a formalized race like that. I'm not a distance runner but hung in there.

Man, you are a machine Mursilis.

Thanks! Of course, I know several runners who aim (and usually exceed) 200-250 miles/month, so I feel like a slacker anytime I'm not meeting those targets!

Congratulations on finishing your first 10K!

+153 for May. Slowed in the second half of the month by a recurrent hamstring strain. Stupid hamstring!

Finished up May with 59.8 miles total but I counted the half-marathon on May 3rd already, so that's 46.5. Had the influenza for two weeks in mid May - and I'm still having respiratory problems - and that impacted my running. Which is a bummer. I did actually run twice while I was feverish... didn't go well, but made me feel a bit better psychologically.

I signed up for the San Francisco Marathon on July 27th and booked my plane ticket. Right now, I'm feeling dismally unprepared (longest run to date was 14.3 miles last weekend... and I walked at least a mile of that), but I'm hoping that a combination of the lower altitude, and a rigorous training plan will close the gap.

Forgot to add my totals for last week (been out of town).

26 miles in and around Traverse City, MI. I love running up there.

24 miles for the week. I finally got back to my long runs today, so hopefully I'll be back up around the 30 mark soon. Vacation this week, so I'm sure I will be light on mileage again.

I'm a letter carrier for the USPS. I know it's not running but I do walk at a fairly brisk pace, plus carrying mail. Any objections if I add my mileage?

+902 miles since September 2014.

Haven't posted in a long long long long time. Been frankly a rough 9 months of running. DNFed my 100 miler attempt in Sept 14 after 34 miles d/t nausea/vomiting/kidney stones. Took almost 3 weeks off to recover. Ran a 25K trail race in January in crazy conditions. Pulled my quad muscle first in February(took couple weeks off) then pulled it again during a 50 mile ultra that I again had to DNF at mile 35 because I could barely walk from the pain. Took 3 weeks off from that. So really that's 900 miles in 7 months basically because I didn't run for a combined 2 months from various injuries. Finally starting to feel strong again, and I don't know whether I'm crazy or just plain dumb but myself and 2 of my good friends are leading a 35 mile FA trail ultra on Saturday(at least 6 other crazies are joining us). Signed up for another 100 mile race which will be in November.
