100 16x/80min CD-R's + Jewel Cases $9.95 AR @ CompUSA

Just checking my newspaper ads today and came across this deal at compusa. I know that these CD's probably aren't the greatest quality, but I just bought 100 slim jewel cases from office max that came out to 10$ after shipping (5$ shipping, 5$ jewel cases). Anyways here's their description

These are some great CD-Rs and they work well with the new TDK burners, too bad I don't have $60 to put in rebates right now. Maybe I'll just buy one pack...

The ad does say 100 for $9.95 after rebate. Do you suppose that they're going to MAKE you buy 5 20-pks to get the deal. Can you just buy one or two? I do lots of rebates, but 10 for this deal and trying to get them all could really make you old before your time.

B&M only? I don't see them on the website.

You have to buy 5- 20pks to get the deal. These have been the best CDR's for 20x burns.

Not my purpose to dump on the thread, here, but I recall reading that folks were having some questions about CUSA's business and were having some difficulty with their rebate fulfillment.

Having said that, I'm not thrilled about looking for $60 reimbursement and going through a protracted waiting period like Philips (see the infamous $40 Philips PRCW Burner rebate). In Philips, there was even a rumor somewhere in the fall that they were going to skip North American operations, so that made waiting for that one really exciting. They're such a large world-wide corporation that I figured they'd eventually come through, but waiting 6 months for a $40 rebate took the gilding off getting an 8X burner for $20 + tax.

Is this just spurious information as to CompUSA? If it is, my apologies to CUSA and to their fans and to those who think this is more of a B and M.

I see a possible problem with this deal. Just got back from CompUSA B&M. I was in a hurry to get back or I would have checked the rebates there. Seems both rebates are asking for original UPC codes. To make matters worse, both rebates are from New Rochelle (TCA).

I'm going to hold off on cutting the UPCs on these suckers until somebody gets some info from their local CompUSA.

Any ideas?

I did these rebates back a while ago and got my rebates in a timely matter, these rebates also have great tracking. You can call them up and ask which ones you should send orginals and copies too, I just included a little note saying that the orginals for sent for another rebate. Also, it's not like a seperate form for each, it's just 2 forms with a maxium of 5 offers.

I took part in the deal last time and got back all rebates.
This time, my concern is if I can jump on it again. I like the case and the CD-R. Not perfect but is best buy to what you pay.

Bought the CD-R today. But one of the rebate forms was out. one employee told me I can download it from their website. But after I come back home, I can't not find it on www.compusa.com. Anyone know where to download the rebate forms.
