I agree. Those little children and elderly should be sued for everything their family is worth. Little bastards!

Right, $15 for a CD that costs about 5 cents to make; about 10 cents out of that $15 goes to the artist, now where does the rest go? Have you ever thought about that, Mr I-love-RIAA?

I never meant to imply that stealing is OK.... People/companies should be paid for the products they produce -- and an economic equilibrium will occur between price and product. It's up to the producer to decide how badly they want to risk gouging the consumers, and it up to the consumers how long they will tolerate being gouged. Whatever.

My opinion about Sony stems from them (and others) BUYING the politicians that work for us -- and quietly change the rules of fair use (see DMCA) while the public just sits and stares. And bNeta86 has obviously bought into the corporate sob story that if people are allowed fair-use, then the terrorists have won.

edit: That said... Sign up for the card, buy a bunch of CD's... and then cancel. Everybody wins.

I have a "?", how many CC is a person allowed in a year? I already signed up for like 2 this year (ebay, and buy.com), and will do this one too.

You can sign up as much as you want.
It doesn't look good on your credit tho...

that sucks, I thought the more credit cards, the better your score should be since I pay my bills on time.

in the long run yes it will help.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think everytime you open a new CC, your score goes down a little, but your score begins to go up again the more you pay your bills on time, no late payments, etc. So eventually you'll receive higher credit score for being responsible with your CCs.

If I were you I would check out the finance forum on "hugebillfold." They have some very good posts about this exact topic- its more complex than simply applying / having too many or too few cards. Good luck to you - my simple answer is that $100 is worth going for as the hit to the score for applying for a card is only a few points usually - just pay it off on time. In the long run - the more cards you have - the better...to a point.

noirish, sure, if you want to risk having your credit information on file with citi, the most unsecure and hacked into company in the world. 800,000 cardholders identities were stolen from their database earlier this year, do a google search. some vendors don't even accept citi cards, and many delay the charge 24-48 hours just to confirm its a legit order.
