That's not true. Mine is a Visa card from Chase that is affiliated with Sony, hence called the Sony card. Others may even be Mastercard. This can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. The affiliation with Sony has to do with the rewards aspect (and they also get money from it).

i seem to have gotten two credits. i got a credit for $31.89 about a month ago, and thought that was part of the $100 credit promo. so i emailed Chase about the rest of the credit and they forwarded it to Sony. anyways, just yesterday another credit for $100 appeared on my statement. so i was able to get the promo like they said i would.

I activated my card on October 4th, 2005 and made my first purchase right away. It takes 2-3 months for the credit to appear after your first purchase. Doubt that I'll get the credit until the new year.

I activated my card last week and made a purchase on 12/6. I got an email this morning with subject "Information on your one-hundred dollar credit":

"Thank you again for joining the Sony Card family. This is to inform you that your $100 card credit, per the special signup offer, has been approved for processing and will appear as a credit on your statement within 5 business days. "

If this is true, it looks like a LOT faster than 8-12 weeks. Wonder what gives with that?!?

I got the same mail. But my first purchase was 6 weeks ago. Even i checked my statement online, yes they have credited $100.

They did a mass credit for all the people including myself who have been waiting for over 8 weeks. You just seemed to be included in it. You can find more info anohter site about it.
