i picked two of these spindles up (one with cash of course ) they are only rated 16X. but i don't care i'm still putting along with my 8X.

Whoever has got these CDR's, could you please check what color is the recording surface? For my old Sony DVD player, I need CDR's with a light blue recording surface.

these are rated 16X, so i try to burn bigger CDs at 16X, but if i burn something <350MB, its on 24x or 32x and they work fine for me...and these hi-vals i picked up a while ago have a light-medium greed recording surface. i dont know if they've changed the dye or not.

I'm not picky at all about my CDR, and have gone through many, many different brands of cheapies. Hi-Val is just about the bottom of the barrel for the ones I used-only the CompUSA completely blank surface ones were worse. Hi-Val also stiffed a lot of people (including me) on rebates the last time they went bankrupt (some other firm bought the name and is now operating as Hi-Val).

You can get a 50 spindle of Imations this week at .CompUSA for $12.99 - 10 MIR. Best Buy has a spindle of Fujis for about the same net cost. I'd go with either of these first. YMMV.

Was sold out at my local store but they offered me a 100-pack of Spin-X CD-Rs for $20 with $20 Rebate = Free AR as a substitude. They had to override the price in order to get this to work since they are usually $32 or so.

Just went to a B&M OM in philadelphia area. They are priced at 39.99, and nothing in the weekly ads. Spend 40 minutes of driving for nothing.
