My order on these CDRs just came in today. The wrapper label on the plastic protective tube says they are good up through 12X.

Be aware that these are the "100% Certified" TDK's, which means the el-cheapo Riteks. Just a little heads up info..

Yes, this has been posted here more than once before.

But i'll add to this thread ... again.

Buy.com is a good price but this is a better bargain.

Get the TDK's over at CompUSA for a couple of bucks less at around 40 bucks less rebate. You don't get the 10 off 30 rebate at buy.com BUT you do have the chance to find the 2x50pk spindle screwed together which are made by TAIYO YUDEN! The 100pk spindle is made by RITEK and aren't not as good.

So, the combo of 20 rebate and 100 TAIYO YUDEN made cdrs is a hot deal.

Remember: Certified Plus = TDK made in Georgia
100% Certified = RITEK made.

When you say they're made by TAIYO YUDEN, do you mean you can find TDKs that are made by that company or another brand? Sorry, you didn't specify which brand CompUSA has that is 2x50 CDRs.

Sorry, I mean this:

At CompUSA you can find TDK branded media that you can get the 20 rebates for the 100 pk spindle.

However, there are two to choose from at CompUSA. Evidently (this has been confirmed by the folks at alt.comp.periphs.cdr on usenet) the two different packagings are like this:

RITEK made: it's a full 100 cdr spindle. The one you see in the buy.com picture.
Taiyo Yuden: it's 100 cdrs total BUT it's two separate 50pk spindles in their own containers shrinkwrapped and screwed toghether by a funky mechanism together to make 100 total. When people have cd id'd them they are Taiyo Yuden manufactured
