WHen I tried to burn TDK CD-R's with my plextor 121032, some songs sounded scratchy (almost unlistenable) at 12x, i moved it to 8x and it was a little better, anyone else havve these problems

I have heard that when you burn at really fast speeds, the laser doesn't make as deep impression on the media or something like that, which causes problem for audio. I don't know how that would work or if that's true but I only have a 4x burner so no worries here =P

Hey Jaydee, I use these discs on my Sony 10/4/32 and have had no problems with scratchiness or coasters; haven't been able to try 12x though. Maybe they aren't so 100% certified after all.

Hey, all I'm saying is when I used TDK with my specific writer at high speeds, it sounds terrible on some songs. I used a sony 10x4xwhatever on a mac with one of them, and it burned great at 10X, but on the Plextor it either sucks or I have a disfunctional burner because it did it twice. Memorex works better on my specific drive, but don't imply that I'm biased (not sure if you were or not), just warning you if you use Plextor at 12 or 8x.

Burning CD's of audio at high speed on any drive can cause anomalies. I never dupe any audio CD's that I care about at anything higher than 2X.
