In PL the shirt is not mainly designed to 'protect' you it is designed so you can 'lift more weight' SIMPLE AS THAT. If anyone is under the illusion that they need 'protective' kit to lift it is a joke. It is simply so YOU CAN LIFT MORE. It is a sport loved by millions around the world. They want to lift more and it is allowed in the rules so they will use it to their advantage.
It isn't as if these guys DON'T know that constantly lifting heavy weights over time WON'T KNACKER out your joints. Its like why do it if you are bothered about some injury?
It is a crazy feat of strength either way you cut it.
Yes he has short arms and a THICK THICK body BUT that obviously helps him. At the top level of anything you will see 'genetic' advantages show through. Ever see a 5'5 high jumper? THOUGHT not, see a 6"3 jockey? Nor me...
It may look like the guys were touching it but I can assure you they WERE NOT TOUCHING the bar. It would not have counted the lift even if they grazed the bar.
The guy in the video looks like a total loon! But he can BP like crazy. He has trained 100's of hrs in to it because he loves it.
Some guys like to look pretty for themselves and not bother with any sort of strength. This guy loves to BP and not care about his looks.
