Hmm, I can't even come up with any potential reasoning for this under normal circumstances. I wonder if he went into a seizure or something and just laid into the gas like that one unfortunate trucker from a little while back did? It certainly doesn't add up, first off, that looks like an old crappy v6 firebird, around 100mph is probably top speed on it (they can be modded yeah, but most are rust-boxes by now), and 2nd, whizzing by a cop on the shoulder? Maybe he was suicidal.

IIRC, he was a diabetic and his blood sugar was way out of control. You can't even get a medical certificate in the US with diabetes.
