Has anyone used this service?? I would love to be able to study while having downtime at work but, I'm curious how much people have actually learned using IEEE. Any stories?

I just signed up and tried their Unix fundamental course and I have to say the course is itself is of high quality. At least for this course, they even assess you first by giving you a 25 questions test to see how to adapt the course to your needs. My work has similiar training courses but not this quality, they just go straight to the material. IEEE's course has voice and nice animations to their presentation slides. I say this is a bargain for 'all you can train'. This is great when I'm on the road or downtime.

FYI, they don't charge you right away. I was told you will be charged in approx. 2 weeks and you must call for an invoice to be mailed to you. I needed for reimbursement at work.

If you are a student, check with your engineering faculty - normally, as a student you can sign up for $20 or so...

I just signed up - thanks again for the link! I haven't really looked around yet, but it looks like you have to pay a separate subscription fee for the Digital Library, but the courses are free which is the main reason I signed up... Very good deal, now I just have to motivate myself to take some classes online!

i joined a week ago...but after i paid 86 bucks, i did not get any confirmation email / snail mail...or anything like that...i tried to setup a web account, it asked you for a pin number....anyone got something different? Please advise.

Optical, this may work for those who are currently unemployed and could use this as a tax write-off for retraining. I'm calling the unemployment office in NC to see if this applicable.
