You'll find in some cases a 40% disapproval, almost ALL of it centered around hardware failure, specifically most of if being the PVR's.

That said, I signed up for basic dish network last week because I'm in the middle of BFE and can't get anything else, and DirecTV is still a bit too expensive for my taste.

Like I said above. PVR broke (after being on for 8 months straight), they sent me a new one, then I sent the old one back in the same box (dish payed all shipping costs).

Went for a couple of days with out a Dish Receiver in the workout room.

I think I'll live.

That's nice and all, that they replaced the equipment, but that doesn't mean it's a good buy. I have a ford ranger, in 1 yr its been in the ford shop 4 times, is the ranger a good truck NO! Same thing goes for equipment that is faulty, just because you can get it easily replaced doesn't mean you should still buy it.

Well, as I am renting the equipment I don't consider it a good or bad "buy"

With dish you have the option to rent the equipment, and any hardware failures is the problem not yours.

Which is just the way I like it.

Also I was trying to point out that bad hardware does not equal a bad company or a bad sattelite service. My good experience with Dish has far outweighed one, quickly addressed hardware problem.

Only problem is, if you're renting the equipment and you cancel, they do everything possible to charge you full retail for it.

Plus dish's customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with, bar none.
