I see it is in what is called 'Little Italy', good hardworking immigrant type area, or stay out after dark or on the weekends?

We're thinking about stopping there for one of the italian beef sandwiches that the guy from Man vs/ Food had there recently when we're in town.

We're from a very rural town of 9k in far Southern Illinois (370 miles south) - some places called 'Little Italy' aren't always the best areas. Not that well-versed (literally not at all except for the south side) in the good and bad areas of Chicago, that's all.

no, we're coming for (hopefully) Aerosmith and ZZ Top in Tinley park on 8/28. Staying with some friends in Normal Thursday night, driving up Friday AM, doing some things like Microcenter, Al's, one of the zoos. Yea I know, they're going to an aerosmith/zz top concert and wondering if Taylor street is safe?

We saw them in st. louis back in May but their set was cut short due to a storm and zz top wasn't with them. we're up to speed on what goes on at the concerts though and just kind of keep to ourselves

Ah, memories. I used to live around the corner on Carpenter. I went here all the time.

As far as the OP goes, I never had a problem in the 2 years I lived in this neighborhood. I regret moving away.

I prefer the Fry's in Downer's Grove though.
