That's an obscenely good deal. There is only one non-exotic (AKA Titan RTX) card that is legitimately faster than a 1080ti, and that is a 2080ti. Vega 7, Navi XT, and 2080 are only moderately equivalent, and often fall notably behind the better built 1080ti models when OCd.
On the subject, it's kind of weird how a couple of things changed with Pascal to Turing.
Pascal FE models are basically the worst models. 10Gbps ram, blowers, basic clocks, and nothing special for OC. Later AIB Pascal's like the 1080 ROG Strix 11Gbps were as much as 20% faster. Build quality on them is insanely good, like with my old Aorus 1080ti, even has copper rear jacketed backplate.
Turing FE models are actually pretty excellent, though overpriced IMHO. And the AIBs seem to have taken a step back. Just compare the Aorus 1080ti to the Aorus 2080ti. HSF, backplate, overall build quality took an immediately noticable hit.
Anyway, yes, grab the 1080ti. I went from the Strix 1080 to an Aorus 1080ti, and the leap was substantial at 1440p 144hz and 3440x1440 120hz UW. Tbqh that leap felt as large as the leap from 1080ti to 2080ti, and my son now has the Aorus. Rips every game to shreds still at 1440, and will even push 4k if you are judicious about scaling back wasteful settings. I much prefer high refresh Gysnc though, so dumped 4k for UW.
