Good find,that player rocks.Plays near bout any dvd format (bit torrent anyone?),I have two.Just bought a third,now its an upgraded model at $39 new(walmart).I believe thats the dvp 3960/37 which is now the 3962/60 .

What ZIP did you use?
If I use an eastern ZIP (19606), and page 6 shows a crappy DVD/VCR combo
If I use a west coast zip (90210), page 6 shows a 2 way dubbing, DVD to VCR, VCR to DVD!

Apparently it is different by geographic location.

Sure enough, both of those ZIPs give you the 1080i Philips DVD player $25.

You can get the newest elcheapo phillips at the waldmart for under 40 bigones.I just put one to a 50" plasma and it works very well.
