1080P DLP® Display
High Definition Television display powered by Texas Instruments? latest 1080P DLP® chip. In combination with Mitsubishi exclusive light engines, over 2 million pixels of the highest high-def are delivered for the most detailed HD picture for a variety of today?s and tomorrow?s sources.
Mitsubishi Exclusive 6-Color Light Engine
Mitsubishi's exclusive 1080p DLP® 6-Color Light Engine generates yellow, cyan and magenta directly for brighter colors, a wider range of colors and whiter whites.
xvColor?
x.v.Color? is the new standard in high definition color! The x.v.Color? Wide Color Palette enables up to 80% more color than standard HDTV for breathtaking realism and vivid, natural colors. Maximize High Definition color performance.
Deep Color
Deep Color creates smooth transitions between different shades and eliminates color bands and complements x.v.Color??s wide color pallet. Enabled by HDMI? 1.3, Deep Color goes beyond previous 8-bit HDTV.
TurboLight180?
Mitsubishi has pushed lamp technology to its limit! Our unique, patented optical design focuses light more efficiently to produce a 10% brighter on-screen image. TurboLight? produces a brighter image without increasing the amount of power consumed or heat produced, therefore it does not compromise the life or performance of the lamp itself. Mitsubishi?s exclusive TurboLight? technology directs more light to the DLP chip surface resulting in a brighter, more vivid on-screen image.
DarkDetailer?
DarkDetailer? is a Mitsubishi exclusive technology that uses a dynamic aperture system to add depth and texture to the picture. Dark Detailer improves contrast ratio by more than four times, giving you a wide array of colors and shades that are essential for optimal viewing of dark, dramatic scenes while also providing maximum brightness.
Plush1080p?
HDTVs can display any video signal. For a 1080p HDTV, even the high quality 720p and 1080i HDTV signals being broadcast need to be reformatted in order to fill the TV screen with a sharp, clear picture. Mitsubishi developed Plush1080p? technology to do just this?with the highest quality possible. It scales the picture precisely, with minimal side effects. And 1080i, currently the most common form of HDTV signal, is spectacular at 1080p. The conversion is precise, resulting in previously unachievable detail and clarity. In short, Plush1080p? technology makes everything else look better on a 1080p HDTV.
Tru1080p? Processing
Keep your signal the way it was meant to be seen. Mitsubishi?s Tru1080p? Processing maintains 1080p high definition signals as 1080p from beginning to end. All 1080p DVI-I, HDMI?, IEEE 1394 and 1080p Broadcast signals are passed through with no down conversions. The advancements of 1080p DLP® technology for HDTV viewing deliver over 2 million pixels to you on-screen for a full and true 1920 x 1080 resolution. With Mitsubishi 1080p DLP® HDTVs, you can experience the best that high definition has to offer today and be ready to enjoy all of the 1080p sources that are on the horizon.
Color 4D Video Noise Reduction
Mitsubishi?s 4D Video Noise Reduction adds an extra dimension to picture performance. Advanced algorithms filter video noise more efficiently yielding clean, crisp images.
PerfectColor?
PerfectColor? is an exclusive Mitsubishi feature that gives your customer the ability to adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input. PerfectColor? is a full color matrix, much more powerful than a conventional color intensity control with red versus green color balance.
PerfecTint?
PerfecTint? is an exclusive Mitsubishi feature that provides the ability to adjust the tint of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input.
DeepField? Imager
DeepField? Imager constantly adjusts brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of the picture. It can even optimize complex scenes containing both dark and bright areas. DeepField? Imager analyzes 135 sectors of the picture in real time. It determines the optimum blend of contrast and brightness settings within the picture using advanced Mitsubishi algorithms. Based on picture analysis it dynamically adjusts for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright displaying the best balanced picture in every scene.
SharpEdge?
SharpEdge? is the latest in Mitsubishi?s edge-definition signal processing system. It enhances horizontal and vertical edges for stunning picture precision. SharpEdge? senses the vertical boundary and amplifies it while minimizing distortion. The end result is crisp and sharp edges.
Video Modes: Brilliant / Bright / Natural / Game
Use the four picture video modes to adjust for optimum viewing in different room lighting and gaming applications. All modes are accessible via the VIDEO key on the remote control.

TV your way
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of connections, made easy. Mitsubishi leads the industry with 3 rear HDMI? 1.3 inputs and 2 rear component inputs for maximum HD connectivity. Both a front HDMI? 1.3 input and Front Component Video Input allow you to easily connect your favorite HD game system. Additionally, a USB input for up to 5 Mega Pixel pictures connects you to large screen digital photo viewing. And Mitsubishi?s Easy Connect? along with NetCommand® make set-up and single remote operation of all your AV components so easy.

Front USB Input (5MP Photo)

Front HDMI? Input

3 Rear HDMI? 1.3 Inputs

HDMI? 1.3 with SimplayHD?

**** This TV will not accept 1080p over component video like the newer sony a3000 and the samsung LEDS and DLPs from the 2007 lineup.

It does however have front HDMI, USB, and Component for veratile connectivity of your game consoles.

Do not confuse the 734 with the circuit city exclusive as it is missing some key features and it is very easy to notice running the appropriate source signal in HD.

I have a Mitsu 52 inch DLP from 2 years ago. Folks, I kid you not, the picture, although 720p, is still the best picture I have seen, even compared to my cousin's Westinghouse 37 inch 1080p LCD, and 95% of the LCD' and Plasma flat panels out there. It is awesome to behold...

I love this TV. Mitsu, to me, makes the best Rear Projection units hands down. I paid $2K for mine, 2 years ago, and I wish I had've waited another year and bought the 1080p unit, or the 1080p Rear Projection LCD unit.

I can't say enough positive things about my TV... I just wish I had more HDMI ports....

Great price indeed. I was eye'ing this TV for some time now. I bought this set roughly a week ago. Not for this price, but for 1899 at my local SOCAL Fry's. It was on "sale" and the regular price you'll see for this unit there is $2399.

So far, this set is very very nice. I think I may need to make some adjustments or calibrations cause my HD channels don't look all that great. Either that or, Time Warner cable has crap for HD quality. I have yet to try a Blue Ray dvd on this yet. PS3 looks good as well

I had our 50" Toshiba DLP 720p HDTV calibrated, two inputs (HDMI x2) for only $100. It was well worth it.

my guess this will be gone by the end of today once the fatwallet and at effect hit.

Im guessing they are buying these for around 1598 at cost. Mits MSRP is quite higher on these. Costco sells it for 2699. Most places are hovering in around 2000-2100 online.

The deal is that it is 400 less than the lowest dealers online. Not to mentionin BM Retail chain.

How does DLP compare with LCD and plasma TVs. From what I read, DLP is nothing but a projector in a box and the bulb used to project the image runs at 200 to 400 $ and can burn in 2000 to 3000 hours. Size is big too.
Thanks

Knock on wood, I bought my Set back in 05, for the Louisville\UK football game. I bought it back on September 1st, to be exact. I am still on my first bulb...
I need to clean the filter, probably, but other than that. My TV has been running like a change. Its in my office, with a Sofa and Love seat, and a desk and chair, and a closet with a Server and network equipment, roaring away... so I don't get caught up in the noises from the TV.

As I mentioned before, for some reason, I have been to many stores, many electronic stores (Best Buy, Pierets, Circuit City, etc), and I have seen MANY plasma's that produce better colors, and better darks and are brighter overall but I have yet to see one with the same or better sharpness. And Model is over 2 years old... which is what KILLS me... My friend, right before I bought my set, bought a $5000.00 Sony 50 LCD, after 3 months he visited me, and was shocked out how well an Eagles and Cowboys game looked on my TV. totally shocked at the HD quality. You could literally see picture sharp reflections off of ye players helmets. And you didn't have to sit 20-30 feet away from the TV to do so.

As for the fella above who mentioned a Toshiba... I bought a 52 inch Toshiba, with all the bells and whistles, and was horrified, and upset at the PQ... I callibrated it myself, but still could not get rid of the splotches that I saw, and I had to take it back. I was very upset, because I was looking forward to useing the built-in TV-Guide on Screen, and the ability to record things to the proprietary harddrive (especially HD)...but I wanted PQ above all else... so I took it back...

Right about now, my TV is worth probably $500 dollars after I spent $2000.00 on it, but I am happy.

people have stated that even though this tv does not accept component 1080p, it does internally upscale the 1080i or 720p to 1080p and most cannot tell the difference once this is done.

For all you xbox 360 user pre hdmi cores, will appreciate this set. I have loved mitsubishi sets over the years and am looking to upgrade to the diamond series this time around, although the 734 series is a steal 4 hdmis including 1 and 1 component as well on the front access panel.

the picture might look good, but I don't like how most of the DLP/LCD rear projection TV's screen has a shimmering look to it. I will stick with a plasma for now.

I went in the store and the guy told me you take another 200 off because of the whole thing in this weeks ad. So that puts it at 1799, still the best deal. May have just been my guy though, he didn't seem like the brightest.
