Hi. So for the past few years I have been sticking to my older I7-4790K because the benefits in upgrading processors to a newer generation wasn't worth the cost. The usual stuff, new motherboard, upgrading to DDR4, New coolers "maybe" for a slight performance increase wasn't worth it. So I always got better performance gains for my dollar with a new GPU. I believe I went from a 960, to a 970 to a 980ti. Now with the 1080ti out was thinking again of getting a new GPU, but now I'm not sure if my older CPU and ram is enough. My ram is currently Corsair PC3-12800 1600MHz which has served me well. With so many opinions out there and threads, I am at a loss as to what the correct answer is. If I have to upgrade ram and processor then I probably can't afford the 1080ti as well, but if I get the 1080ti is it going to force me to upgrade to benefit?
Thanks
