You can probably call Airborne and ask them to waive the signature (then you are resonsible for the package) or ask if you could leave a note.

I have a question about the firewire cable. Do you need a 4pin to 6pin? What kind does the ipod come with? Also, the ETA for mine is 10/2 from Sacramento.

the Ipod uses a 6pin firewire(ieee 1394) cable. you can get a 6pin to 4 pin adaptor, but I'm not sure if the ipod will charge through a 4pin firewire port?

I ordered on 9/25, Apple upgraded my order to overnight same day and shipped the next day, now I find out it's still on a Fedex truck somewhere on the road. My upgrade got downgraded..

Same thing happened to me. I check one day at the FedEx website and it says that my package was mailed on the 27th and I'd get it on 10/2. I check again today and it says my package was mailed today and will arrive 10/3. Something screwy is going on at apple but as long as I get an iPod in decent condition I'll be happy.

About the firewire. The only computer in the house w/firewire is a Shuttle XPC SN41G2, which I think uses a 4pin connection. So does the cable that apple gives you convert from 6pin on the ipod to 4pin on the PC?

Um.. you may want to read this thread, chances of any iPod shipping the day or even the week your order is pretty slim. Just because it lets you order one doesn't mean they have them ready to go.

I did read the thread, and I acknowledge all that. I am not some 16 year old ready to scream to high hell if my product gets pushed back a day, or even a week, for whatever reason. It's currently reading to ship tommorow, and even if that ship date gets pushed back to Friday, I'm not too concerned. Or even if it ships next week, that's still fine. I've dealt with enough online retailers to know they operate on island time. I'll just call them and ask why my ship date was pushed back and demand a discount.
