10gig 2nd generation iPod refurb $169 @ Apple

Well, a ray of sunshine ..... Got my tracking number and got a real shipped date. If not here by friday.... will have to call up the apple store and get a little refund for my overnight shipping. Will keep you updated.

Anyone else notice apple's e-mail system being a little slow? Seems like you can get to the website and get your info an hour before you get the e-mail.

Now to find something to mount it in my car.

I placed my order today over the phone and they screwed up the shipping address. It was an hour later and they refused to change the shipping address. I was pretty perturbed. I called FedEx and they said all Apple had to do was call them and tell them the new address and it would be cool. The thing hadn't even been picked up yet. Apple refused. Good price, bad CS.

Got mine today but have not opened it yet. Mine came in a regular retail box. Are the ones that are coming scratched in the Brown boxes or the retail?

Won't they replace that? It's supposed to operate good as new, but it was pre-owned, which justifies the markdown. Am I wrong in assuming that? Even if refurbished, it should act as if it was new, at least during the warranty period.

Yeah I wonder the same.. Anyone else have 4hr problem I'm gonna be pissed if that happens to me. I have the worst luck in the world I expect mine will be doa or kicked to crap. It already shipped at least, orderd late last night shipped today will be here tommorow or friday cause I live 15mins or so from them.

I just read this article about Apple. I'm curious if you first time, by way of an iPod, Apple customers concur with the premise?

I like the jog dial look better that was one reason I really wanted a 2nd gen. I'm planning on using it to get mp3s to my trucks stero over fm (my cd player is set up to recive from my trucks cd changer via fm in the back so I wonder if the player is any better at reciving fm since its meant to recive from the changer that way ??)

Of course I said that. If you constue my comments as "freaking," you're very much mistaken. I'm going to call Apple and ask why they missed my ship date, scheduled for 10/1. As long as I get a confirmation that my iPod is in the system for the price I payed and currently being processed, all will be well. If they want to perhaps wave my shipping cost, that'd be even better.

I pull into my driveway and the fedex man/women is going the other way.... i thought when i am driving at him and turn into my house he would see me... guess not... time to call fedex.

Called fedex , letting me pick it up in a few hours, will not be able to play with it since i am going to work after that... oh well, will charge it up there. Better than waiting til 4 the next day.

My iPod lasted all day yesterday (8+ hours) playing music. When I got home, I was down to one bar on the battery - charged it, and it's back to full and playing more music this morning.
