Edit 3: Power usage not quite as bad as I thought. 980TI at full power 100% load and the 4790k at full load, 325 watts from the wall. But I do have a 96% efficient PSU.

The AX1200 PSU is 80Plus Platinum which requires only 92% at 50% load; however, you won't be getting that high at a relatively low load, so probably about 90%.

I just researched, and yes, you are correct, I read the advertising. But JohnnyGuru had this to say:

The Good:

among the highest efficiency I've tested to date
extremely low ripple
lots of connectors
fully modular
very stable

The Bad:

somehow, they're going to have to top this one... eventually

Farewell XPS 710 you served me well for 8 years, but alas you turned on for the last time right as I was getting ready to get you into the big race. Fear not trusty friend you will rise from the ashes with a BTX(thanks Intel for selling us a bill of goods because of your crap engineering with the P4 and for letting me go two months before my sabbatical.) to ATX transformation(as seen here http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2293137)

We return you to your regularly scheduled program. Thank you for letting me vent.

Is it even worth to CPU fold with F@H these days?

Nope. I have 3 24 core boxes sitting idle. When they killed bigadv, it was not worth the electric bill to run them.

One of my two G3258 rigs w/7950 3GB GDDR5 GPUs, caused my 330W UPS (one for each rig) to set off the alarm, probably overloaded.

One of my GPUs, is running at 1.050v, and 82C. The other one runs at under 1.000v, and runs at like 73C.

The rig with the GPU with the higher stock voltage and higher temp, is probably the one that set off the UPS alarm. According to my UPS software, I caught it drawing 300W.

The other one is like 250W.

Quite a difference in power consumption, considering the small difference in millivolts.

Edit: My bad, it's not just the GPU differences. Those rigs also have different monitors, the one with the higher GPU voltage, also has a monitor that draws more watts. Forgot about that.

Realistically? Not unless you are already using that box for GPU folding. At least, that's how I see it.

My G3258 @ 4.0, running a single core on CPU WUs, gets like 2K PPD, the GPU (7950 3GB) gets like 90-92K PPD.

Do you have any local universities that might have research groups that might want to buy your 24-core boxes? I mean, if you're not using them for anything, might as well sell them, right? (Or try to do WCG with them, maybe.)

Thx for the stats Petrus
Desslok's closing in on me!

Anyone know how many ppd I would get from a HD 5850 these days?
Looking at last years race stats, my then main rig's total ppd was ~15k (C2Q @3.6 GHz & the HD 5850), not sure if it'd be worth running that now when compared to my main rig's current output. But are last years stats still right for today?

Is it even worth to CPU fold with F@H these days?
For me, yes, as I need all the ppd I can get to hold back..... to try to hold back a certain team mate! .
And of course my rig's on anyway GPU crunching.

V Larry
What's the difference in power draw between the 2 rigs less the monitors?

Mark
Nice new rig , & it's power draw is about the same as my rig, with a far higher F@H output!

I'm currently getting about 14k ppd on my 5850 and about 2.5k ppd on the cpu. This is on windows 10 with 15.7.1 drivers.

Well, its started. I had to open 2 windows after firing up 2 more video cards. 46f outside, no furnace needed, but still need to open windows.

If you feel the need to turn something off, I'd suggest you try turning off all the CPU work first.

Yeah..........about that. Uhm, I, uhm, bid on a few too many items on ebay, uhm, and well, won most of the bids. I haven't figured out yet how I'm going to place all these 'items', but....expect my ppd to increase, just a little, by week's end. From 1.5M ppd to, oh, 3M ppd perhaps.

The stats are as of December 14, 2015, 19:00 UTC.

Individual stats:

The day-to-day production:

The TeAm's production graph:

Some nice milestones:
biodoc 70M, QuietDad 100K, salvorhardin 20M, VirtualLarry 10M, TennesseeTony 20M. Well folded, TeAm-mates!

Also we are, as a TeAm, approaching a PPD of 10M (9.5M now) and if Mark and Tony increase their production, we will more than pass that milestone.
This also means that I will have to adjust the teams after the PrimeGrid race ... as I've always done and just before the final leg from December 22 to january 1.

Oh, BTW: there will not be any stats tomorrow because I am on an trip out of town from Tuesday until Wednesday evening. Next stats, as said, late Wednesday.
